CybersShot DSC-S700 Great little camera.

Strengths:

Small, compact, easy to use.

Weaknesses:

Wish it had a bigger internal memory storage.

Posted Jan 5, 2008 - I got this camera at a great price so I decided to buy it. I'm glad I did because it is so easy to use and you can download you pictures to your printer or watch a movie slide of your pictures on your TV screen. I like this camera very much and I would recommend it.

Sony Cybershot DSC-S700 Digital Camera

Strengths:

Picture, Price, ISO

Weaknesses:

Expensive Duo-pro card, Date-time embed

Posted Dec 29, 2007 - I bought this camera for my regular use. Picture quality, movie mode is good. It has ISO feature too. As usual, sony camera is not compactable with other card, so, we have to buy expensive duo card. Further, I did not find any option to embed Date & time inside the photo. I had taken the help from technical support or customer support too for the same, but could not got it.

Great entry-level digital camera

Strengths:

large LCD screen, dial selector and function explanations, easy to use, ergonomic, 7.2 MP, slick design, compact size, price

can only use memory sick duo (more expensive than SD cards), long loading time when reviewing pictures, few manual controls,

Posted Dec 28, 2007 - At first, I received a defective unit but Staples shipped me a new one quickly. I hope the new one will be as reliable as my old CyberShot, which is still functional today after three years of use. This is a very good entry-level digital camera. For this price, it's hard to find anything close to this camera in terms of performance and style. Its design is slick compared to other cameras in this price range. A thinner body would be a little better though. Its large LCD adds both functionality and style to the camera. You have to use it to take and review photos. It's bright and clear so I wouldn't mind totally depending on it. The dial selector lets you choose a number of modes depending on the situation. That's perfect for a photography beginner. The only drawbacks are Sony's proprietary Memory Stick Duo and noticeably longer loading time when reviewing pictures. But I guess paying extra for a Memory Stick is the price you have to pay for a more stylish cheap digi cam. Overall, very satisfied and would recommend it.

Black Friday Deal

Posted Dec 8, 2007 - Pictures look clear, memory stick is expensive but for a 2 gig at $15 on sale the camera was worth the savings. 3x optical zoom and 2x digital zoom is plenty of zoom for the things I take pictures of.

Strengths:

Overall a good camera for its price. good pictures and serves the need of day to day photo shoots.

Weaknesses:

It uses duo pro stick that costs about 3 times more as oppose to SD cards. Movie mode resolution is not great. It does not have image stabilization.

Posted Nov 30, 2007 - Overall a good camera for its price. good pictures and serves the need of day to day photo shoots.It offers good image quality, performance, plenty of exposure modes.Some of the negatives I feel are that it uses duo pro stick that costs about 3 times more as oppose to SD cards. It does not have image stabilization, Canon IS series which cost about the same , has it. Movie mode resolution is not great. Because of these negatives I am giving it 3 stars. I am satisfied, but, will not buy again because of mainly the Pro duo stick being so much more expensive.

CyberShot DSC-S700 Digital Camera - Excellent Camera

good image quality ,Quick performance and excellent battery life

Weaknesses:

slow flash recharge time

Posted Nov 25, 2007 - This camera is easy to use turn it on point and shoot. It has 3X optical zoom capability and additional features that will satisfy most photographers. I believe the Sony DSC-S700 is a great camera for the money and a wonderful gift for the amateur user.
