3 Star Review Good value for the price

Strengths:

High 8 megapixel resolution, 5x optical zoom, good pictures, uses AA batteries

Weaknesses:

Could do better in low light conditions.

Posted Jul 22, 2007 - This is a good digital camera for the price I paid (around $120). The camera has 8 megapixel resolution, has a good 5x optical zoom and digital image stabilization (better than not having any image stabilization at all). Also uses AA batteries which I personally prefer. This camera turned out to be a good starter camera for my children.

4 Star Review Great picture quality but weak power management

Strengths:

Great picture quality, especially for low light night scenes. Video recording is fantastic.

Weaknesses:

Use battery too fast

Posted Jul 21, 2007 - I had a Kodak c360 digital camera, and I love the picture quality of Kodak cameras. I purchased this one from Circuit City after searching its reviews on the web. I prefer its high ISO function so I could take nice picture during night. It has intelligent auto mode function, and all the buttons and functions can be operated easily without reading the user manual. The normal alkaline battery died quickly with 20-30 shots, and the camera heats up quickly. I switched to high power Ni-mh rechargeable batteries and the batteries can last about 200 shots.

3 Star Review Excellent for the price

Strengths:

8M pixel, 5x optical zoom, easy operation

Weaknesses:

Software is very problematic.

Posted Jan 22, 2008 - This camera is a steal for about $120. One of the best things about this camera is that it powers up quickly and is ready to go. But the picture color and quality is not good. If it is not very bright, the picture will have lots of noise. Also, the EasyShare software is problematic. I can't get it installed. The best method I find is to use a card reader to transfer the photos from the memory card to computer, use microsoft digital imaging software to edit photos. and forget the EastShare CD all together. This camera is a battery monster, prepare some rechargeble batteries for it. Overall, this is a good camera for the price.
