It's a lovely little camera although personally I prefer the bulkier build of the previous S series before they ended production the first time round. The price is a decent point to start at for the amount of features available. It'll make a very good back-up camera for the photographer who likes keeping control, shooting in Raw and a good lens but may not always want to take a bulky camera...

good semi pro camera
Strengths: the extra dial around the lens is handy, the build quality is pretty good, takes great low-light photos
Weakness: the back-dial is a bit loose/flimsy and turns accidentally with your thumb... the focus can hunt for a bit in low light, especially macro.
this is a great camera actually, it takes great shots in low light and has a pretty wide-angle lens. it's pretty fast to focus and you can pre-focus. the shutter button is kinda weird position though, and a little tricky to 'semi-push' (eg. for pre-focusing - I find myself taking 'snap-shots' accidentally).
having raw is great as well. the front dial is a 'feature' that is actually useful, although it would be handy if you could use that dial itself to change the function of that dial (instead you have to multi-push a button on the top of the case).
all in all a great camera.
