Impove the sound of old records.

Strengths:

This unit offers sturdy construction, an appealing look with excellent transfer software, and a dust cover.

Weaknesses:

It has only the basic operating controls.

Posted Apr 25, 2008 - From the moment I installed the software and plugged it into my computer, it changed the way I listen to my old records. The transfer software really reduces the noise caused by years of use and damage from accidental mistreatment. I'm now enjoying music that I love from years past with much improved quality, and one CDR holds 10 hours of music!

Nice turntable, gets the job done

Strengths:

Ease of installation. Looks. Ease of use.

Weaknesses:

Must have iTunes installed. No instructions for Audacity software. Too much trial and error in recording.

Posted 1 year ago - This turntable does exactly what it's supposed to do. However, I don't like the fact you must download iTunes to be able to use it. Why couldn't it just copy to your hard drive

Good value for the money

Strengths:

Inexpensive and does the job, but one needs to read the instructions

Weaknesses:

Instructions could be clearer.

Posted 1 year ago - The ION TTUSB05 works well and easy to use with very little setup hassle if you follow the instructions. If you simply want to record your records to a computer, this does the job. There is no feedback, no grounding issues and quality is pretty good. The all plastic turntable is lightweight as far as quality feel, but what can you expect for less than $100? It does have a cueing button to gently set down tone arm onto a record. There is also has a built in hard shell dust cover too. The Audacity software program is okay and instructions could be clearer, but it works. I simply use this program to transfer the music to my computer then use a higher quality program to remove any clicks, pops, etc.. All and all, this is a good turntable for the money.

Posted 1 year ago - IT'S GREAT THAT YOU CAN CONVERT YOUR RECORDS TO DIGITAL FORMAT.I WISH THIS WAS A FULLY AUTOMATIC LINEAR TRACKING TURNTABLE.(WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FOR 100 DOLLARS?) IT'S CUMBERSOME TO PUT THE NEED ON THE RECORD ALL THE TIME.(IT DOES HAVE A CUE UP & DOWN BUTTON)ACCIDENTALLY, THE NEEDLE SLID & SCRAPED RIGHT THRU MY RECORD TWICE.THE NEEDLE ITSELF LOOKS LIKE A FISCHER PRICE MODEL. I WANTED TO USE MY AUDIO TECHNICA DIAMOND NEEDLE BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE A LATCH,SCREW MOUNT OR LEVER TO RELEASE THE NEEDLE.THE TONE ARM SEEMS PRETTY FLIMSY. BELIEVE ME IF A DJ GOT IT'S HANDS ON IT,IT WOULDN'T LAST 5 MINUTES.ON THE BACKSIDE,IT HAS 2 RCA LINE-IN JACKS TO HOOK UP TO A PORTABLE SPEAKER OR RECIEVER WHICH YOU HAVE TO GET YOURSELF.I COULD NOT LAUNCH A PROGRAM ON MY LAPTOP PC TO HEAR THE SOUND OFF THE RECORD.(I HAD TO RELY ON THE SOUND GRAPH) THE SOFTWARE IS PRETTY SUBPAR. IT DOES WHEN IT CAN DO WHEN IT WANTS TO. I HAVE HAD THE PROGRAM CRASH ON ME 20 TIMES JUST TO RECORD A 6- MINUTE SONG OFF A 12" INCH ALBUM.IMAGINE RECORDING THE "A" OR "B" SIDE & IT CRASHES ON YOU? THIS TURNTABLE IS PC COMPATIBLE ONLY.IT'S A BELT-DRIVE TURNTABLE.I PREFER A DIRECT DRIVE.BELTS DO BREAK.OVERALL,I HAD TO RETURN IT.
