4 Star Review Big Dock with Big Features

cvn74rmo - (November 13, 2005) I needed a better keyboard than that offered by the HP zv6130 laptop in my office. The big plus was the added adjustable laptop height that allows using the laptop display like an LCD flat panel display. The cost of these two items would easily justify the price, so I purchased it from a local store. It was easy to set-up. The two quick-start guides made the task quick and easy. The unit requires about 2 cu. ft of desk space - so measure before you buy. If you have a legacy computer desk from the days of the CRT, it takes that space and uses it wisely. It does provide an additional 3 USB 2.0 ports - one of which must be used for the IR mouse and keyboard (that are both first rate produ

4 Star Review Good Universal Dock

prushant - (February 10, 2006) This is a good product and is the only available universal docking station with video. Since my family uses different laptops it is just what I needed to connect to an external LCD monitor and a wireless desktop. It also features 2 powered usb ports which can be used to charge ipod etc. However the lack of ps2 ports is a weakness of this product and at the price they should have been included. The station works well and is easy to install.

makryger - (December 09, 2007) If you would like to purchase a full-featured docking station for your HP computer, there are limited options. Targus and Belkin have universal docking stations, which look great on paper, but really don't work very well. Really, I can't say much more about deciding what to buy, other than having to weigh the positives and the negatives of the features you are looking for. Because the Quickdock does not have its own graphics card, you will have to rely on the graphics card of your laptop. (Though it does have an impressive array of video-out options- composite, component, and VGA. No DVI.) If you are looking to plug this into a surround sound system, note that there are no 5.1 analog a

1 Star Review no x64 support - no aero!

papadi - (10/15/2009) What kind of High Speed device is this that does not support x64 and aero!? I sent it back a few days after I bought it.

2 Star Review BEWARE

aweihl - (08/11/2009) I am a very savvy computer user that likes gadgets. This docking station is excellent until the issues come up. I have researched the forums and the issues seem to be different for different setups. For me I can not keep my external hard drive and the docking station plugged in at start-up; has to be one or the other. This was a very painful learning process to figure this out since it had been working for months before this happened I ended up replacing my hard drive before figuring this out. Just beware that if weird things start happening that you should unplug everything.

3 Star Review Good as long as you don't need the monitor output

fdavachi - (07/01/2009) When I saw that this docking station has a monitor output with just a USB connection, I thought it sounded too good to be true. When I tried it, I found out that it indeed was too good to be true. The monitor output has very low resolution and pictures move very slow. I basically had to go back to using the monitor output of my laptop. Other than that, it seems to work fine.
