sounds better than it looks
portability
limited expandability
Posted 1 year ago - I've picked up drum sticks after a decade of lull. Now with a family and all, I couldn't effectively deal with the space or the noise of a drum set. So, a small electronic drum set like this DD65 was a necessary compromise. As you can tell, I was skeptical at first. After living with it for a couple of months, I am very satisfied with the portability and even the sound. Of course, the built-in amp/speakers are too weak, but it sounds pretty nice with a good external amp. A good set of headphones will also bring out good sounds. Of course, its real appeal is the portability. As you can imagine, it's so easy to take it with you anywhere. However, I recommend buy the kick drum pedal KP65. It's not possible to play a serious bass drum beat on the included foot pedal. Unfortunately, this adds some bulk. Also, buy the power adapter PA150. Cons are that it has inputs for no external pads. The eight built-in pads are barely enough. The pads are small, and they are sensitive only near the very center. You can assign custom sounds to each pad, but you can't adjust the sensitivity of each pad. It takes a while to get used to this set. All in all, I have no regrets buying this set. It's fun!!!
