Posted Feb 14, 2002 - Who cares what this unit (or any DVD player for that matter) looks like! That is irrelevant. Besides, black is a great color and matches most receivers which are predominatly black. Also, a five-disc capabilty is not that important. What counts is a DVD player's capabilities and performance and this unit has both in prodigious amounts. Not only will it play CD-R/CD-RW discs, it also plays DVD-RW discs, not to mention SA-CDs. Sony without question has the best slow motion capability in the business. The menu setup is clear and easy to use. Other great features are the video equalizer, digital video enhancer, and block noise reduction. Another good feature is the built-in Dolby Digital/DTS decoder for those who lack those capabilties in their receiver. The only weakness Sony DVD players have is no zoom but the other features more than make up for the lack of a zoom. This is a terrific unit for the price and guarantees that when you burn those DVD-RWs you'll be able to play them on your DVD player. There aren't very many other DVD players that can offer that guarantee.
