Hard drive size, ease of use, can save recorded shows to either VCR or DVD, will record to hard drive while using DVD drive.
DVD drive can be a little noisy at times, but is not a problem since the unit is behind glass in the entertainment unit. You do not hear it unless you are actually standing there next to it.
Posted Jun 14, 2005 - This unit has been a godsend. The ease of TIVO with a built in DVD burner that has yet to make a coaster or fail to play anything I have thrown at it, including DVD's burned on my computer. Transferring recorded shows to DVD is a snap, and quick (except 2X DVD-RW with best quality). The unit looks great, both its assembly and the picture it produces. I can watch a DVD while it records a show to its hard drive, which at 160 GB has plenty of room to record all my favorites at BEST quality without worrying about not having space to record (I always choose the Keep Until I Delete option). I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a versatile unit that is extremely easy to use.
