Strengths:

Very complete robotics laboratory. Lots of neat parts.

Weaknesses:

Little tough for kids under 8 years old.

Posted Jan 22, 2005 - Got this for the kids at Christmas. It is really neat product for both the kids and dad. I'd really recommend this product for people who like to tinker. It really gets the creative juices flowing. If you run WinXP it has an irritating bug that makes the software startup whenever you boot, but there is a patch that fixes it. Look on the Mindstorms website for the download. Also, check out the wide variety of books on Amazon for addition projects and ideas to use with your kit.

very advanced, tons of activity options, can be programmed with your computer

Weaknesses:

expensive

Posted Jan 6, 2006 - This is one of the best toys I ever bought. really cool, can be programmed with your computer and can do tons of activity. It's pretty expensive but worth. Every kids dream toy.
