jonathan7 - (October 31, 2004) I have to admit, after reading some of the reviews of other entry level DVD Recorders (and the problems people encountered), I was not sure I was ready for the step up to a DVD Recorder. Then I saw the Liteon LVW5005 at one of the major Warehouse Clubs for a great price. It also featured All-Write technology, which means it would write to both of the major DVD Recordable media standards (+/-). Since the Warehouse Club had a good return policy, I decided to give it a try. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I found unit setup to be easy, and user guide documentation good. This Liteon model has great screen display interfaces, making internal setup also a breeze. Most impressi

chitowndave - (July 30, 2004) I bought this third generation DLP after a long hard search for the "perfect" HDTV. Plasma's expense and burn in problems (I watch FOX and CNBC often) just worried me too much, and LCDs looked good but not like this. Almost bought an EDTV 42" Samsung plasma because of the cost and the 2 year standard warranty, but I knew I would eventually wonder about a full blown HDTV and would buy one in a few years to replace it. I consider this set a way to avoid that step. I was also worried about the salesmans desire to take it out of the box before I bought it and confirm that it worked - and he stressed about not tilting the set past 90 degrees - this had me concerned about how fragile it was.

vtmchris - (March 28, 2005) Research: I've been looking for two years for a gps device for my car. An upcoming move to a new area added new focus to the search. I started looking at the Magellan Roadmate 700 because of the complete US mapping (I like the idea of just getting in the car and taking off without having to download maps). Magellan's reviews on PiceGrabber were positive but no one offered comparisons to other gps devices. The reviews for Garmin, however, were much stronger. Some people specifically compared the StreetPilot 2620 to Magellan noting the business directory and other features that Garmin offers that Magellan had not yet addressed. While considering Garmin StreetPilot 2620 I noticed the many
Deluxe ER850&Ectaco C-Pen scanner – easy purchase & painful return.
Customer_2008 - (11/23/2008) The representative of Ectaco, who spoke in Russian managed to convince a 77 YEAR OLD RETIREE, who hardly speaks English, that this “product” would help in learning and understanding English. Since the Ectaco representative never explained the return policy while talking to the elder customer (my father in law), my wife and I requested this information from a sales representative who informed us about the 7 days available for the evaluation of the product, and NEVER MENTIONED A 6.5% RESTOCKING FEE. When the merchandise was delivered, it became clear that the PRODUCTS WERE DEFECTIVE. First, all attempts to scan anything with “Ectaco C-Pen scanner” failed. Then, no one could understand the voice of the “Deluxe ER850” – it completely failed in voice synthesis in both Russian and English. Finally, instead of sending a Russian electronic book (a promised bonus), Ectaco managed to send one in Polish! On the day 6 of the “7 day evaluation period” we called Ectaco, explained that we did not want this merchandise, received an RMA number, and sent it back via UPS. Simultaneously, we started a dispute regarding the restocking fee, which was not been revealed to the customer prior to the purchase. Moreover, how could my father-in-law understand Ectaco’s policy if he was solicited in Russian, but the fine print with the policy on the invoice was written in English? FINALLY, ECTACO REFUSED (stated in the UPS tracking report) TO ACCEPT THE MERCHANDISE WITH RMA# WHITHIN CUSTOMER EVALUATION PERIOD, and sent a letter to the Credit Card Company stated that customers did not contact Ectaco for RMA number, and that the merchandise was never returned. This case, which is currently under investigation by a Credit Card Company, clearly demonstrates that customers have difficulties in returning unwanted and defective merchandise even when following Ectaco’s rules. We feel that both English and Russian speaking customers should be aware of all of Ectaco’s practices that we faced recently. Think twice before placing your orders.
someone01 - (11/22/2008) It has been durable withstanding a few drops. Unfortunately going to a phone without a touchscreen makes slow to browse and change programs. Response times also lag, such as waiting for screen changes. You also have to buy a larger battery to make it last though the day which then puts a bulge on the back making it much thicker. I also miss the ability to security lock documents without locking the whole phone.

GASTURBO1 - (11/22/2008) The large screen and the ability to switch keypads were the biggest factors in my purchase. However the capability of this calculator does not go beyond the TI-84. So advance engineering and science students may be out of luck. I also would have wished for a backlit screen since I do most of my calculations at home in bed with the lights dimmed down, but i hope the next models support both these features. Overall, a very useful calculator.
