Express Camera is a big scam. They sell you a product but send you a cheaper product. Then when you try to return this wrong item, they attempt to sell you something else for more money. When you call customer service for return merchandise approval which is required by them. The guy was extremely rude and wanted an apology! NEVER do business with this company!! |

Complete SCAM! Avoid these guys like the plague. They put together really cheap package deals and don't deliver. They took my credit card information and then sent me an "out of stock" notice. Here's the message: Unfortunately we are currently oversold on the item you have ordered, and it is currently on a backorder for 6-8 weeks. Therefore, your order has been canceled. Please note, your credit card has not been charged. The RIDICULOUS thing was that the exact same camera was available on their website 2 hours later for 25% more! |

FRAUDULENT SITE. BEWARE OF BUYING FROM EXPRESSCAMERAS.COM!!! They offer good price packages on the site, but after you order they call you to confirm order and then talk you into adding "extras" like batteries and you get overcharged for the accessories. Several days after ordering from the company my credit card had fraudulent charges. |

It seems my greed for a good deal went the same as others have said. I ordered a Panasonic AG-DVX100B and a package on July 27th. I called this morning to add 2 day shipping to my order. They told me the camera was on backorder. They lied and said they sent me a message informing this was on backorder. I never canceled my order but only minutes later I received an email where they canceled the order. I then was doing some research and it seems this company sell credit card numbers and I may run into fraudulent charges later from dealing with them. Our credit card will protect us but I am hoping they won't take it this far. |

Crooks!!! They took my Visa card information and sent to me "out of stock notification". Watch your credit card transactions. After 5 month I noticed fraudulent charges on my VISA by "americansingles.com" and "match.com" and had to cancel my card. I bet they sell the information collected! |

(Edited July 13th by robtduncan01) Don't buy from. they are selling Gray market cameras that are supposed to be sold overseas Japans so your warantee is invalid and extended warantees are not possible. They are rude and wont help you. After you make an order they call to "upgrade" you. I bought a nikon d200. I got Sigma lenses instead of Nikon lenses. The battery included, I was told was would only last about 20 minutes and I needed to buy a better battery and quick charger. These are normally included in the box with the camera. I told this to them and they said that because they were a reseller and were able to sell them without these items. They are so full of it. |

Whoo Hoo! Same story, my 2 cents. Placed the order 10:40pm 7/05/07, Nikon $249 ($50 less than the night before) D80 camera body, 18-200 irpy goo $629 lens, 2 filter sets, read the 2004 trash reviews, didn't look for the latest. Didn't check my email until after talking with the clowns, 20 minute hold for Adam to assure me all will ship out right away, tried his best to intimidate me to buy another memory card and a battery, "Can you live with yourself for that (NO, SIR!) decision? "Yes, Sir!" and he hung up on me at 07/06/07 8:15am -700. I then checked my email account, received a cancellation notice at my mail server 7/06/07 06:58:04 -0700, over an hour before I called. They looked up my order number, new my name, etc., and still told me everything I ordered is in stock buy more memory and batteries. I suppose they stay in business by suckering the yokels into buying accessories for cameras they will have to buy elsewhere 6-8 weeks later when the "Notify List" moves on. |

I placed two orders online on the same day: one for Rebel XTi and a lens, and one for another lens. Never got proper confirmation. Got an email asking to call to "confirm the order." Then a sales person called asking for security codes (why???) and pushing a variety of overpriced accessories (batteries, EF cards, filters). I declined, sticking to the original orders. The next day I got two emails telling me both orders were canceled because expresscameras was "oversold" on all three items. (Of course, I could still put them in my shopping cart online the same night.) It's a scam! Do avoid this place. I admit, the prices were too good to be true, and I should have known better. They probably make $$ on overpriced accessories, while claiming "oversold" on the stuff you really wanted (what's another $300 if you're already spending $2K on the lens?). I will also replace my credit cards -- the manner of the sales guy on the phone made me very uncomfortable. |

Wow! Wish I would have found these reviews before dealing w/Express Cameras but they are remarkably consistent w/their sales practices. My experience mirrors the dozens of other posts here: "come on" price for a Canon camera body and an additional telephoto lens; then a call back to "verify my credit card" followed by an attempt to upsell virtually everything available; rude phone person; then, an order cancellation since the item(s) were out of stock. Amazing. But, it obviously works frequently enough for these sleazeballs to stay in business. |

I am very disappointed with your sales team and the accuracy of products described on your website. Though you have the best prices for many products, once and order is placed, you are challenged with your purchase by having to call-in and verify the order then a pushy and arrogant sales rep tries to changes your order, add on sales items to boost the price and tells you the item you are ordering is different model and the the real price is 30% + more than the website quotes. I can not imagine recommending for someone to buy from Express Camera knowing they will have to go through this. |

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Check their BBB report, they are not even registered but the BBB New Jersey keeps information on them. I tried ordering twice just a camera body and it was "out of stock". The third time I added an accessory and I got an email confirmation to call. I called and they try to get you to buy all of their other overpriced accessories that you need for the camera to work. Not to mention the false advertising practices. The salesman was rude when I didnt want to buy other accessories and finally said my order would be shipped as originally ordered. Two days later I get an email telling me it is once again "out of stock". They just dont want to see the camera body at a loss with their low advertising price. I emailed them asking for an explanatin but to no avail. Horrible company. other websites they operate:clearviewcamera.com, hopecamera.com, luckydigital8.com, trustedcamera.com |

Express Camera is the sleaziest site I have ever ordered from. As I have recently found they have a lot of complaints about bait and switch. I ordered a Nikon SB800 flash because they had the best price on line. The sales person tried to talk me into buying a supposedly latest version of Nikon flash. I later found out it was an off brand that sells for less than$200 elsewhere. I cancelled the order minutes later and insisted on the Nikon flash which they agreed to send. They are still sending me the off brand product at a higher price than the Nikon and charging me twice the agreed shipping charge. I will never deal with this people again. |

I got scammed with the same bait and switch as everyone else. Pushy, fast talking sales people, etc. I tried cancelling the order the next day and they told me it shipped. That was a lie because the invoice when I recieved it was dated the day After I called to cancel. Also, when I recieved the camera it was missing some of the "upgraded" things they sold me. After a few calls back, they are sending me the upgraded stuff and not asking for a return on the old stuff (battery, tripod, flash card). The reason it took a few calls to get them to ship the new stuff is I had to do some research with the manufacturers in between. After that, they could no longer argue. I have not recieved the new stuff yet but once I do, the camera should be an OK, not great deal. I will never do business with these guys again adn will now alway research any company on the web that I don't know prior to doing business. I recommend staying away from these guys. |

I never ended up completing an order with this company. I ordered a lens which they said was in stock. I got an email saying I had to call to "confirm my order" but in all reality it was me calling to get hassled to buy more product/accessories. The customer service agent talked to me like I was a toddler, assuming I didn't know what filter size to buy, or if the lens would work with my current camera. 10 days pass and my credit card still isn't charged, nor have I received a shipping confirmation, so I call them and they say that the lens has been backordered, and it would be SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS! The fact that I didn't get a phone call with this information before is just plain ludicrous. Avoid this seller at all costs. |

(Edited February 07th by Laura H) This was the worst on-line buying experience I have ever had. I placed an order for a Nikon SB-800 flash unit, and a pushy salesperson with the hard-sell fast-talked me into a more expensive, unworkable off-brand flash that ended up being useless, cheaply made and made crackling snapping sounds upon start-up. I returned the broken flash unit, as instructed with a detailed letter as to why it was broken and then had to wait for the Nikon flash I originally asked for. Watch for hard-sell tactics, as they urge customers to buy higher profit items. Not only did I have to go to the trouble and expense to ship the broken flash, Express Camera charged me twice for very expensive shipping! So I had to pay for their mistake. When I called, I was met with an unreasonable so-called manager who told me to go away, he didn't care. Avoid, Express Camera has terrible customer service, unacceptable ethics and they are quite rude. I would not recommend using this company. Don't buy. |

I placed an order on the web and then the sales rep sold me a lot more things than I needed and wanted. Told me he was a manager and will give me extended privileges for return if I was not satisfied. When I tried to return the extended warranties when I found out they cost me more than $800 he told me I could not return that. Couldn't return the whole order. Charged me $250 shipping. Every time I called offered something but not what I wanted (RETURN). Will never ever buy for them again and please, don't buy for them. They are a SCAM. |

I purchased a camera from them on November 30th 2006. The same day I get an email saying that I have to confirm my CC info. I call and the rep tries to sell a bunch of things don't need. He finally says that my order will ship soon. I called six times since then and my call was dropped by their system as soon as it is transferred to a rep (and after waiting for a long time). I finally got a rep the other day and he said that the order would ship in February, although they just announced a new package with the product!? I have asked my order to be canceled. |

We placed an order for a Nikon D80 Professional package on 12-20 -06 with UPS 3 day ground shipping. We received a conformation email that same date. We called on 12-27-06 because the camera had not arrived. I was put on hold 4 times with 2 different reps. each saying” wait a second” and then putting me on hold. Finally a rep. answered and ask the shipping address. I gave it and ask if the camera had been shipped? The rep. said "do you want to cancel" and I said no I need it now and why has it not been shipped. He said your order is cancelled and hung up. I tried to call back and got a recording that forwarded me to a non toll free number. They had blocked me form calling back toll free! We are concerned about the security of our credit card info and will never use these abusive con artists again. |

Blatant and appalling bait and switch. They really make little effort to hide it. They currently have 93 complaints filed with NJ Consumer Affairs going back two years. Advertise very low prices, require 'confirmation” over the phone, try to sell alternate product and overpriced accessories. If you don't buy the extras or alternate overpriced items, they send an e-mail claiming item is back-ordered for several weeks and offer to cancel the order. Not the kind of company you even want to have your credit card information. |
