Posted May 20, 2008 - I recently suffered adult acne breakouts for the first time in about 4-5 years and was finding that the old products I used to turn to did not do the trick. I decided to give the L'Oreal system a try after reading several favorable user reviews on different websites. I'm glad that I did! The three step system is straightforward, easy to use and so far is working quite well for me. The wash is very gentle and it feels "silky" on your skin. The toner is not harsh at all and doesn't sting, and the lotion goes on well, absorbs quickly and does not leave that "film" behind that sometimes you find with other products that contain benzoyl peroxide. I received the product on Friday, started using it that night and today is Tuesday. In just four days I've seen a significant decrease in clogged pores, redness and irritation and I'm not developing any new pimples or black heads. It has cleared up in this short time span I'd say at least 10-15% of my acne. It's very gentle, which is important for many adults who suffer from acne because your skin can no longer bounce back from harsh treatments that you used as a teen. Of course the benzoyl peroxide has a drying effect, so it's very important to use oil free moisturizer at least twice a day after using the system. My only issues are that the amount of product in the bottles is very small. It says that it's supposed to last for 6 weeks, so I've been extremely careful with the amounts I'm using so as to make it last. Also, the smell is not really pleasant, but not horrible either. It just smells like it's a serious cleansing system, no flowery good smells here. Actually I'm not so sure that's a negative. It could mean that they don't use a bunch of perfumes in the product which is good. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the L'Oreal system. And I really wish that they carried it in my local drugstores, but it's worth ordering online for the product.
