stalex - (January 31, 2009) This is the only ventless fireplace that I ever owned and I am quite satisfied with it. I recommended it to my friend and she liked it a lot too. It is not as shiny as it looks on the pictures, but I think matte darker copper color that it has looks much better. As far as the fire itself it greatly depends on the gel fuel you use and not the fireplace itself. The fireplace also has candle holder, so you can put candles instead gel cans if you wish.

shigadeyo - (April 10, 2008) When we purchased our house, everything (lights, hardware, switch covers, etc.) was polished brass. I am not a big fan of polished brass, but it does have its place and uses. It looked okay in the house, but after a few years we have tired of the traditional look and have decided to update things to be more transitional/contemporary by painting, replacing lighting and hardware, etc. One of the biggest things left to replace was the polished brass fireplace doors in the family room. We had been looking for replacement doors, but didn't have much luck. Then toward the end of this Spring I was walking through Home Depot to get some more paint and just happened to find one set of these door

5 Star Review EPI-1402 Review

epurdum - (01/27/2009) I did a ton of research as this was my first experience with a fireplace insert (versus a stand alone stove). I purchased this stove in November of 2007 (the price was about $1200 at the time). The install was very simple and was ready to use within an hour of the install. I have a 1450 sqft first floor (I only have one floor with vaulted ceilings) and I heat the whole floor with this single unit. I am very impressed with this unit as it is easy to light, the blowers are on a temp sensor, so they do not start until the fireplace gets to a certain temperature and the fan is adjustable from off to high and everywhere in between. I have used it for 2 winters and other then remounting the top mantle (the fans vibration eventually causes it to loosed), it was a fantastic purchase. I would highly recommend this product.
