Posted May 31, 2006 - This is an excellent device especially for digital camera equipment. I have strobe lighting for Studio photography and I use the Canon xt digital rebel camera. This protects the varying voltage. Another great feature is the auto-flash firing button that allows you to fire the flash without taking a picture.This allows you to test the lighting amount with a flash meter again without wasting camera time.I also like the extra hot shoe connection on top of the device which allows me to mount a small level for my technical applications.

I needed this for my Olympus C-5050 digital camera ...

Posted Jan 12, 2005 - I needed this for my Olympus C-5050 digital camera so I could use with studio strobes and also to protect camera from high voltages from older flash units. The unit also provides a pc connector that will come in handy. It appears to be exactly the same as the much more expensive Olympus part that sells for twice as much. Wein probably makes them for Olympus. Yes, it also has a press-to-test button on the side that is not seen in some of the images on various web sites.
