4 Star Review Datatraveler 4GB

Strengths:

Works very well for Readyboost... Aceepted it with no problem at all and notice some performance increase with the increased memory.

Weaknesses:

None at this time as I have just used it for Readyboost and works flawless.

Posted Jan 22, 2008 - Overall this item is well worth the money if you want to store some programs or items that you don't want to lose due to a defective hard drive or whatever. The only drawback on this is the flimsy keychain piece to attach it at. Its very cheaply made and after alittle use and rubbing against your key chain you will find that the thing will break and you might accidently lose it. I do not recommend attaching it to your keychain. Put it on a small rope and put it up somewhere to prevent damage to the item.

5 Star Review Monster storage with tiny package.

Strengths:

size, stability, durability

Weaknesses:

cost, color

Posted Jul 16, 2007 - I have had several flash drives but this one has been the best. I have never had a single problem with the operation or compatibility of this drive. 4GB of storage space and the USB 2.0 allow you to move large amounts of data at super fast transfer rates. I keep all of my important documents in a virtual briefcase on this drive. When I get to the office I just plug it in and update all the documents to the most recent versions. If anything were to happen to one of the versions I have a backup. The size makes this drive easy to slip in your pocket or keep it on your keychain. Be careful when you put it in your pocket, I left mine in and it went through the wash. Which bring me to the next feature. Durability.. After the wash I was sweating bullets, wondering if I had destroyed my 70 dollar drive. I plugged it in and to my amazement, it worked just like before. You are limited to one color, so if you have a problem with purple then you might look elsewhere.

5 Star Review Kingston 4GB Data Traveler Flash Drive

Strengths:

Size, Price, Nice looking, No U3 Software

Weaknesses:

Speed, Somewhat cheap case, cap design

Posted Jul 17, 2007 - Though I doubt it is Vista SpeedBoost certified, this flash drive certainly has capacity on its side, easily storing everything I need it to. It was also one of the cheapest flash drives for its size, and its even from a legit manufacturer. I have yet to experience any problems with it on any of my computers, and I am confident it will continue to serve me well for years to come. One major advantage: no U3 software!

5 Star Review Kingston: Lite and Filling, washes clean.

Strengths:

4G Easy to grab, not too sleak a style case. USB 2 transfer rate excellent and quick. Recognized by the PC and Laptop 123 No tricky U3 software to load, durrable, survived a trip to the laundry.

Weaknesses:

bulky design does not fit in carry cases as well. Bulk also does not jibe with side by side USB jacks.

Posted Jun 26, 2007 - From my first stick of 256 Meg storage, we have come a long way baby. I even had a 486 PC with less HDD space than this baby!!! Beats the heck out of re-writing CD's and DVD's just to transfer files. Anyway, this joins my stable of 1 and 2 gig sticks, and will likely become my consulting mainstay, as I can transport whole database test files, along with developed builds for e-comm systems. Not bad for a quick pluggable device. This has even survived a very turbulent time in both a washer and dryer, thank you. Three days in my possession and I left it in a pair of pants. Which proves it is at least idiot proof to some extent. Transfer rate is excellent, my only gripe is it does not like side by side use of USB ports. Over/under is much preferred. A minor annoyance in only my desktop PC's. Perfectly fine in my laptop models (HP and Gateway).

5 Star Review Good Basic product

Strengths:

capacity,price

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Feb 7, 2008 - This 4GB flash drive is the perfect size for keeping my photos and files safe and for backing them up. The 4GB capacity is much better than having several smaller ( 1GB) drives laying around.I can fit PLENTY of things on here and can use this on whatever computer I want.It also does not add unnecessary and unwanted components like U3 software to my computer when I install it.After installing it on my computer the first time it took about 5 seconds for the computer to find new hardware and install it. After that initial installation there is nothing to do.I am extremely happy with this product. The price was about $20 and you cannot beat it.

5 Star Review Good capacity at a reasonable price

Strengths:

Inexpensive; Very light device with large capacity; Stable performance; Five year warranty

Weaknesses:

Plastic material may not be very durable in the long run. No retractable design.

Posted Jun 28, 2007 - I found this USB drive to be the least expensive one with 4GB capacity in a name brand. This drive actually looks better in person than in the picture. The good thing is that you don't have to deal with U3 software unlike other drives and it's ready to use right out of box. The reading/writing speed seems good to me. It does what it's supposed to do and you can trust Kingston for memory product.

4 Star Review Kingston 4gb flash drive

Strengths:

a lot of storage space

Weaknesses:

none so far

Posted Jul 19, 2007 - Kingston is a reliable company from experience so I decided to get this flash drive from them. I have a 1gb version also which has always worked for me and I expect this one to do the same. It is one of the largest storage spaces that are available today. The transfer speeds are decent but are only noticeable because of the 4gb size. The only fault that I can see happening is losing the cap of it, since it is loosely held on to the key.

5 Star Review Decent 4gb flash drive

Strengths:

Good performance, reliable, Large capacity

Weaknesses:

No Capless design, does not come with spare caps

Posted May 17, 2008 - I have been using kingston flash drives for over 4 years and I have not been disappointed by its quality. This drive has fast data transfer and a lot of storage space. In addition it's not crippled by U3 system. The only drawback is the capped design. Newer data travelers come in capless (retractable usb connector) design which may be desirable for some.

5 Star Review Kingston 4GB DataTraveler - AWESOME

Strengths:

Lots of storage, no errors, portable, fast, inexpensive

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Mar 22, 2008 - This datatraveler has never failed. It is awesome for storage at a price of less than $20. I couldn't pass it up. I have had other Kingston products and they have proven reliable just as this little massive storage unit. I use it for added space to my laptop and to transfer pictures to friends and family.

5 Star Review Kingston 4GB Data Traveler USB 2.0 Flash Drive - I like it!

Strengths:

capacity, decent speed, good value

Weaknesses:

none so far

Posted Jan 25, 2008 - I really like this little drive. It has plenty enough capacity for my needs and it's the least expensive 4 GB drive I've found. Data transfer rates are pretty good. I've seen write speeds as high as 400 Mb/min and read speeds as high as 1 Gb/min. So far, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend it.

4 Star Review Kingston 4gb Data Traveler Flash Drive

Strengths:

Fast file transfer rates, lots of space

Weaknesses:

The housing of the flash drive seems cheap

Posted Jan 25, 2008 - Well this product is the most inexpensive 4gb flashdrive their is and the quality of the product is good except the housing. The cap can be easily missplaced. A good flash drive for people who need to transfer large files anywhere.

3 Star Review Handy little thumbdrive

Strengths:

Price, physical size, memory capacity

Weaknesses:

Speed, not readyboost capable

Posted Jan 20, 2008 - This is a good usb drive. I've been using it for about 2 months now and have transferred large files, small files, and batches. Because of its large memory capacity, this drive can handle a lot of data. Along with the large capacity, this drive also was priced competitively when I purchased it. The physical size of the drive is compact, yet large enough that it is not easily lost. Some issues with this drive do exist though. I have noticed that the transfer speed is not as fast as my sandisk drive. Another potential problem is that it is not capable of readyboost. Lastly, for those who like to use lanyards, the loop on this one is also the same place where the cap rests when removed from the tip, so you can use it as a lanyard loop or cap rest, but not both simulataneously. All-in-all this would be useful for people who do not transfer large files often.

4 Star Review Cheaper 4 GB Data Traveler

Strengths:

4 GB of space, 5 years warranty, works well with Windows Vista.

Weaknesses:

Cap is lost easily as loosely attached.

Posted Jan 20, 2008 - Kingston 4 GB usb drive (data traveler) cheaper as compared others and works fine and fast as against its capacity. USB 2.0 hot swappable, just same size as my older Kingston 1 GB usb drive. Also doesn't install any program (.exe's) for its operation so works very fine in my highly secured school computers. Has 5 years warranty for repair, replacement or refund if defective. Reliable Kingston product and worth the price. The only problem I found with it is it's loosely attached cap which get easily lost or broken.

5 Star Review Kingston 4GB Dta Traveler

Strengths:

4GB of space and reliability of kingston products

Weaknesses:

somewhat slow comparing to other usb drives

Posted Jan 10, 2008 - I bought this drive for a good price even though I had 2 other flash drives. I bought it for the price and reliability of kingston. I am using it as a backup to my other 4 GB drive (ocz). It works on both on Windows XP and Vista (not fast enough for Ready Boost). I have been using this drive for a few months and it worked perfectly so far. It's little slow comparing to my ocz but it's a lot cheaper. Overall, an excellent product for the price.
