Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Fast Lots of storage

Weakness: Price

This SanDisk Ultra II card is fast. Fast enough for a Canon SD300 to take full video at 640x480, 60fps until the card fills up. It easily supports the camera's 2.4fps continuous shooting mode as well. Other than that, everything is standard, it's a normal SD card size, has the lock switch, weighs next to nothing. It comes with a slimmer plastic case which is nice for fitting inside a digital camera bag without a lot of extra bulk.

JaiKnight,

Correct me if I am mistaken, but the Cannon SD300 usually captures 60FPS video at a resolution of 320x240, and is limited to a maximum of 60 seconds. If there are no typos in your review, the Ultra II card allows the camera to capture 60FPS video at twice the resolution and until capacity of the card has been reached, much like the 30FPS video capture with standard video cards.

You're correct, that should read 640x480 at 30fps, and 320x240 at 60fps. The quick point I should be making is that, in all video modes, the Ultra II will allow you to record until the space on the card has been maxed out, without stopping short due to buffering. At 640x480/30fps, I believe 1GB allows for just under 1 min worth of video/sound (I don't have the camera on me at the moment to verify).

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Dramatically reduces the save and view times for digital photos.

Weakness: None

I recently bought a Panasonic DMC FZ-20 5Mpixel digital camera and I needed a larger memory card. I highly recommend a high speed SD card like this one as it cuts the save time for a 5Mpixel TIFF file from ~4.5 seconds to ~2 seconds (on my camera).

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: super fast and tiny

Weakness: incompatible with the SanDisk 6-in-1 PC Card adapter

The card is tiny, super fast and holds a LOT. Highly recommended for the fast cameras of today. Also, can't beat the fact that it's an SD card which means that it works in a lot of today's compact cameras.

I've also had incompatibilities with SanDisk cards & readers. Will this card work with the USB 12-in-1?

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: High speed writing and reading of data/songs/pictures.

Weakness: None as of yet.

This is a great product. I swap it back and forth between my digital camera and my mp3 player. It is pretty darn fast in the read and write categories. It is faster than most SD cards on the market. Sandisk also has a pretty good reputation for making some pretty solid products and providing good service and warranty coverage.

At this point, I can't find anything wrong with this product. It works well.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Very good for music files on my Axim 3. I like the fact that you can lock up stored information.

Weakness: Can't back up personal files

Purchased for MP3 files and jpeg photos and it does the job. All of my music files and photo files are accessed with extreme quickness due to the fact the card runs at 60X. I would highly recommend the the Ultra versus the basic 1GB San Disk SD Card.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Plenty large; I don't have a "regular" SD card to see if the Ultra II is noticeably faster with day-to-day operation (but I'm curious). Glad I bought it.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Easy to install and use

Weakness: Haven't found any

I am using this in my Palm T-5. This memory card is fast in reading and writing word and excel files I have saved onto it. I now feel like I have a mini office in my pocket.

SanDisk 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Great capacity and fast, has it all motion and sound!

Weakness: The color should be brite, so it can be easily found if dropped or your in a dark place.

I would love to have another, so I can alternate. The product is so compact with lovely results... It provides sharp beautiful motion with sound. The amount of pictures it holds is huge as well. I have 30 year experience. I am so pleased amazed at current technology.

This SD Card is a waste of your time

Strengths: Fast download/upload

Weakness: Stopped working after about a month of owning it.

I purchased this SD card from Costo to use on my Panasonic FX-9 and after using it for a month it crashed. The camera started giving me errors while I was recording. When I went back home to take all of the pictures off of the card there was a mysterious 250MB missing. After looking on web for more information on what my problem might be I discovered a couple of things... 1. There are many complaints about this card due to the same problems 2. Dell, Sony, and other company's even acknowledge they have problems with the usage of these "San Disk" cards. 3. Even the San Disk website lists that there is a way to defrag or fix the problem. (A card shouldn't have this type of problem). 4. The FAT file the SD card uses is where the problem stems. I guess FAT files are not as secure as NTFS files.

I have researched the web and found that Kingston( A well known computer memory company with lifetime warranty's)has a faster card so I am going to return this one to Costco and get my money back. I will update you on the Kingston card after I recieve it.

SanDIsk Ultra II SD card is quite satisfactory

Strengths: Is compatable with my cameras and other devices (PDA, etc). It performed significantly better than the standard model, but .. see below

Weakness: Using freeware test program, did not perform as well as advertised, but this may be due to different test proceedures.

So far I am happy with the purchase. While I got one originally from a store that probably was selling knock-offs, or international market items, the performace was fairly similar to a locally purchased card. However, the questionable card failed within about a week, but the known genuiine model has continued to perform reliably. SanDisk was of no help in figuring out if the first item was genuine, but they appear to have a good guarantee. Given the cost difference between the standard card and the Ultra II, I would probably buy the standard model in the future, unless I know that the extra speed of the Ultra II could actually be used by my camera or other device and that the extra speed were needed.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Very fast read/write speeds, very large capacity.

Weakness: None

I use this card on my Axim X50v. I can install some of the programs on the card, and because it is fast, the programs can run as fast as programs installed on RAM.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: very fast, very big.

I've used this in my canon sd400 for about a month now and it's really nice. I never run out of room for pictures even at max quality. 1GB can hold about 391 5mp max quality pictures, and almost 9000 640x480 ones heh. It's also very fast, there's no wait between pictures when viewing them and when taking them, the time to write to the card is negligible.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Seems to be well made, haven't had any data errors or issues so far. No loss of information to be reported.

Weakness: Seems to be a little on the slow side. For an Ultra SD card, it doesn't perform like one. Benchmark tests in my Tapwave Zodiac have it listed as "average" speed.

I think it's a good SD card, but I don't think I would spend the extra $$$ on it again. The normal Sandisk card would probably be just as fast. I've heard that Transcend's 66x cards are supposed to be faster and Kingmax's SD cards are also quicker as well.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

I am using it for a Canon 1SIS for pictures and video. Have not encountered any problems in the relatively short time I have had it. Was going to get a 2 Gig Ultra but did not having read reviews such as this that were quite negative. So far so good on the 1 Gig Ultra and I expect it to remain that way.

Fast transfer speeds, excellent quality

Strengths: Fast transfer speed, SanDisk quality

Weakness: Price a little high

SanDisk offers the strongest line of SD memory cards, including the Ultra 11 -- long a favorite because of its outstanding transfer speeds. The Ultra II presents among the fastest transfer speeds of any SD card I've used and its 1GB capacity well suits today's higher resolution digital file formats. I wouldn't consider purchasing any other SD card than SanDisk, even if I expect to pay a few dollars more. The quality, speed and performance outdistances all others.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Fast, Durable, good amount of storage

Weakness: none yet

I origionally purchased from a storefront that was a great price but sent me a fake product. It broke in 2 weeks. I puchased from a retail store and that product works AWESOME. It is fast, holds about 350ish photos on a 6mp canon sd600. It writes fast so continuous photos write quick and you dont miss a shot. Loads on my computer faster than average card and I am super pleased with speed of transfers. Good product that works well, but if price is too good to be true its a fake.

Ultra 2 Secure Card

Never had a problem with it. This is actually my second 1gb card, so I might recommend that you purchase a 2gb card depending on your requirements. I found that if I shoot any video with my IS2, it eats the storage pretty quickly.

Chip purchased from MA DIGITAL TECH

Strengths: works perfectly

Weakness: none

Device arrived in new sealed factory packaging. Arrived on time, was shipped promptly. They have no technical defects, work absolutely perfectly ! Wonderful to have as my old memory was 64k! Now I have 2 each of these and they were only $40.00 each (1 meg memory each) from this vendor! This Chip sells for $99.00 retail elsewhere. I am in picture taking Heaven, thank you Price Grabber for pointing out this vendor!

Strengths: Great.

Weakness: Not experienced yet.

Product is well known SanDisk memory. The seller does not communicates properly and I received the order in one month instead of promised 5 days delivery. I had already purchased the memory from local store for the overall same price.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Huge memory capacity, generally works fine.

Weakness: Nothing obvious.

In general, the card works beautifully -- I just put it in the camera and it worked fine.

One time, I had a problem with a few pictures that were corrupted; the camera kept giving me a "corrupted memory card" warning message, and wouldn't let me take any more pictures. When I deleted the problematic pictures from the card, the problem disappeared. I don't know if the problem was with the card or with the camera.

Great card!

Strengths: Extremely fast!

Weakness: None

For the price you cant beat this card. This card is designed for SLR's so the performance is fantastic. It was overkill for my camera, but the price difference between this and the slower 1gig cards was very small. If you need a card for your digital camera then I highly recommend this product.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

I used the 1 GB SD Ultra II on a Scandinavian vacation. I captured more than 740 images, some of which I intentionally deleted. The following are my stats after download:

1) 694 images actually downloaded to my hard drive.
2) 10 were "Unable to be displayed"
3) 70 were missing from the memory card after download but actually made it into my computer
4) 1 image was received damaged onto the HD but remained ok on the memory card. The damaged photo displayed on my computer looked like it was cut in half and an attempt was made to glue it back together. The bottom half was colored magenta.

I have downloaded more than 2300 images from non-Ultra SD memory cards without any problems.

The box the card came in was in english writing but the sticker was in Chinese writing so I hope the product is ligitimate. I will not purchase another San Disk Ultra II.

1GB Ultra II SD Memory card

Strengths: Fast access speed as compared to standard cards of this make. reliable performance(consistancy).

Weakness: None that I could elaborate on or that would affect my purchase.

If you need a large memory card> 512mb paying extra for the Type II Ultra card makes sense, especially for video; MP3 and pictures. I originaly thought the extra price for these high speed cards was not worth it or would make no difference; but I was wrong. In fact this card at 1GB is much faster than the same brand 256MB card and that does make a big diffrence.

Ultra 1GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card

Strengths: Excellent speed. Very durable card.

Weakness: None!

This item is amazing. I recently purchased a Lumix FZ30 digital camera, which is supposed to have a very short lag between shots. As it turns out, this is true thanks to a high-speed card. I currently have other cards aside from the Ultra II of only a decent speed, and I can clearly tell the difference! My Ultra II allows me to rapidly take one shot after another with hardly any delay. This is definitely the best Secure Digital card I have tried so far. HIGLY RECOMMENDED!
