Posted 1 year ago - As my MiniDV camcorder was getting quite old (and, relatively bulky and heavy), I started looking for newer camcorder technologies and was very intrigued by the ones that use SDHC cards. After researching quite a bit, I bought the Canon HF100 which has a good set of features and is light. I bought it along with a 2GB SDHC card that was sufficient for day trips, but I needed one that can hold hours of videos. I found the Transcend 16GB SDHC (Class 6) card on AMZN and bought it from there. With it, I was able to store about 5 hours worth of video on the card. I used that during my long Summer trip and transferred its AVCHD contents twice to my laptop. The card has been flawless so far in terms of performance. I've also tried to use it to capture video at the highest resolution (which requires quite a bit of bandwidth/throughput) and this card handled it quite well. I've had this card for about 3 months now. The price of the card has dropped by about 25% since I bought it but it was definitely a good value when I bought it. Other more well known brands (SanDisk, Kingston, etc.) were more expensive at the time and was going as high as 2 to 3 times what I paid for this card. The card reader is definitely also a good addition as it's quite compact and does its job (at USB2 speed).
