4 Star ReviewLet's face it, if you already knew this thing had ...

Strengths:

Crisp Text; Sweet Pivot Action; Reasonably Priced; Not a power or space hog

Weaknesses:

Not good for watching TV/DVD or Gaming due to ghosting; Stand is sort of disappointing

Posted Apr 13, 2005 - Let's face it, if you already knew this thing had a refresh rate of 25ms, then you aren't buying this for serious gaming and you would be looking at the newer 8ms models. I bought this monitor for coding and working with Excel and other office applications for long periods of time. It is perfect for my need. The viewing angle range is magnificent. Top, bottom, left or right it looks very nice and is reasonable at even extreme angles. This monitor, like other LCDs, can pivot to 90 degrees. It requires special software for this to work. For some reason, I had almost expected it to be automatic when I performed the pivot like a gyro would snap something into place and it would change the screen to match sort of like certain laptop notebooks. No such luck here. You'll need that software to run to change it the first time, then you can turn it off and it'll keep your settings even after restart. I LOVE this feature as it allows me tons of room to surf the web or to view code. BTW, everyone speaks of ghosting in reviews but its really quite different than what is experienced in televisions. For example, for cable/tv if you experience ghosting, you're seeing one or more channels ghosting through the picture like you'll see the outlines of a soccer player while watching the news. Ghosting for an LCD is different. The best way to describe it is to reference the Matrix. Remember that scene where Neo and Morpheus were sparring and the rest of the crew were watching the fight through a small LCD monitor? Remember how blocky it looked? That's an extreme example of ghosting. It happens on this monitor though not as pronounced as on that movie. Buy a good DVI capable video card. It is much sharper through DVI than analog. I love this monitor. If you are a serious coder and don't game all that much, this is really worth the investment.

5 Star ReviewBought 3 of these after reviewing many flat screen ...

Strengths:

Great picture, contrast and hues. Very accurate color reproduction when calibrated, (ex monaco), easy on EYES!

Weaknesses:

refresh could be faster, but not bad for a 19". Not great for intense gameing, if that is your goal.

Posted Aug 24, 2004 - Bought 3 of these after reviewing many flat screens. No dead pixels noted on any of the three. Great picture, very sharp. We do video production, graphics and high end photography, so I was worried about flat screens and their resolution, color reproduction & refresh rates. The 910t is not as good as CRT's for full screen video, but for 1/4 or 1/8 size rack video, which is what most video editors use, the refresh rate presents no problems. Graphics and imaging work is as good or better than upper end CRTs and much easier on the eyes - with no glare. Blacks are black, contrast is very good, colors accurate, sharp and vibrant WHEN used with DIGITAL inputs. We use Monaco calibration on all of all our monitors, and the results on the 910t is very accurate. When using as dual monitor setups, the thin bezel really helps present a more uniform appeal. As noted above, DIGITAL INPUT should be used for the best picture, and I mean there is a big difference. Another cool trick if you use 2 computers to mutitask, hook the second computer to the A/input. When you need to view that computer, just push the input button on a that monitor, and switch back and forth. Saves having to get a third monitor! I found that my previous worries were put aside. I wish I had updated before now, it would have saved me many eyestrain headaches from glare and CRT refresh effects! I would highly recommend the 910t for most applications and for professional video, photography and graphic work. The only exception would be for the most serious of game players where refresh rate may cause some problems. Excellent buy! RJ : CEO ivapUSA and AirusPhotography

5 Star ReviewI was waiting to go with a digital LCD display for ...

Strengths:

Clairty of image, range of adjustment, depth of color and ease of set up.

Weaknesses:

none thus far

Posted Oct 9, 2004 - I was waiting to go with a digital LCD display for photo imaging (Photoshop CS)that would at least rival a good CRT, but was also waiting for the prices of 19" units to moderate a bit. The Samsung 910t met both and has FAR exceeded my expectations. I also considered a Sony and NEC -also good units I'm sure. The Samsung 910t however seemed to offer a bit more in functional range. I received the unit (with shipping not costing extra) in 2 days from Newegg.com (consistantly good)! And NO DEAD PIXELS either!

Strengths:

Great color, easy to setup and use, good contrast. Wide viewing angle. Stylish. Name brand with good warranty.

Weaknesses:

None so far. I use it in analog mode for word processing and it is fine.

Posted Sep 11, 2004 - My company has five of these Samsung monitors, and they're just great. Excellent value for a $575 (approx) monitor (Aug '04). I'd have to upgrade my computer to take advantage of the higher-quality digital display function.
