Samsung 226BW: S-A-C models: No difference! User Rating
Strengths: NA
Weaknesses: NA
Summary: I called Samsung today and was told by a technical service representative that there is NO difference between the three "versions" of the 226BW monitor. The letters refer to the specific SAMSUNG manufacturing plant at which the panel was produced. S stands for South Korea, A for Mexico and C for (you guessed it!) China. All are manufactured to the exact same specifications and are subject to the same quality controls.
. If you compare two monitors with the same location code -- S, A or C -- you are likely to find minor differences between them, as a matter of course. . Apparently someone posted on NewEgg some time ago about tests done with the S monitor, and the legend grew from there.

You know what? I got an A model and it is horrible!, bad light bleeding on top and bottom of screen and pixelated dvd playback. I had purchased the 206bw which is beautiful in all aspects, i cannot wait to go back to the store and go back to that previous 20" hopefully the have the same one i returned for what i have seen so far, its all a lottery and i was lucky the first time

I bought a samsung 226bw and it looked terrible so I read online and found a sight that tells you how to take the back cover off about 5 screw really easy and you can see what panel you have.
I had a C made bye Chi-something I took the monitor back to the store and got one with a diffrent manufactor date.
Took it home and it looked great really great, so I took the back cover off and sure enough Big Made my samsung on the back of the screen.
