Beautiful Size Monitor and Attractive Price
Large display size, 3ms response time, lots of video inputs.
No height adjustment, does not swivel, no card reader.
Posted Nov 2, 2007 - I bought this monitor online based on price and the positive reviews I had read about it. Having upgraded from a 22" widescreeen monitor, I wasn't quite expecting such an incredible change in my viewing experience. After connecting the monitor to my pc with the included 6' DVI-HDMI cable and booting up, the gorgeous 1920x1200 resolution of the desktop floored me. I soon tinkered with the display settings and the physical positioning of the monitor. I realized it doesn't swivel, you have to rotate the entire monitor. There is no height adjustment, either, which is following a trend among very large LCD monitors (and tv's). The monitor has several video inputs... HDMI, VGA, Component, S-Video, and Composite. There is no DVI input, but the included DVI-HDMI cable makes this a moot point. There are no side connectors, so any connection has to be made on the lower back of the monitor. There are speakers on this monitor, but I have no use for them and have not heard them. I do miss the convenience of a built-in card reader (like my last monitor) and will have to go back to using a USB card reader and pluggin that into my pc. Nevertheless, this Viewsonic is a great value, and I am definitely happy with this purchase.
