Just what I dreamt of

Strengths: Excellent design, perfect colors and brightness, reasonable price

Weakness: none

This monitor is just what I dreamt of. I gave it to my wife for her study and she could not be more happy with it. It is very conveniently constructed, easy to tune and works highly efficiently.

The Best 17 Inch Monitor Currently On The Market

Strengths: Amazing Picture Quality, DVI/Analog Inputs, 8ms Response Time

Weakness: Cost, Glare, Height Adjustment

>
Strengths
+ Picture: Simply the best image quality I've seen out of a LCD yet. Watching DVD's on this monitor is incredible.

+ Inputs: DVI and Analog inputs ensure compatibility with your machine, but using DVI really makes the screen pop.

+ Response Time: At 8ms, fast enough to prevent ghosting on high-end games.

Weaknesses
- Cost: For a 17" LCD over $350 (before rebates), you're definitely paying a premium for a high-end monitor.

- Glare: The same high gloss coating that makes this monitor look great also can be an issue if you have a bright light source positioned poorly behind you.

- Height Adjustment: While you can adjust the angle at which the monitor is sitting on your desktop, this LCD does not have any height adjustable features such as some similar offerings from Dell.

Excellent monitor

Strengths: Awesome looks, excellent picture & clarity, professional quality, easy to position, has a kensington lock hole

Weakness: Gathers dust easily

This has been a truly excellent monitor. It has a great picture and gives off vibrant and bright colors. It is also very easy to position right (e.g. adjusting viewing angle) and is very stable once positioned. It does gather dust on the screen easily so watch out.

What an great monitor

Strengths: 8ms,DVI,software

Weakness: Nothing I can see

With the 8MS reponse and hooked up to DVI it has a better resolution then a crt.I am playing HL2 max resolution and this monitor has no problems .After looking at many other LCD'S I was totally in awe when I saw this monitor. The price is higher then other 17" lcd's but, "I say you pay for the name" but in this case you are paying for the quality.

Worth the money!

Strengths: Picture is Super bright and clear. Go with the X Brite coating. It makes a big difference. Nice rebate too!

Weakness: None so far!

It's worth paying for a better monitor like this Sony. The response to scrolling is much faster than my girl's Emachine monitor. Super fast and free ground shipping from Amazon.

The greatest LCD

Strengths: Very high brightness and contrast. Short response time. Comfortable black color.

Weakness: High price

: The monitor is great. The high gloss “XBRITE” makes black color really Black. It helps those watching DVDs to bring them comfort. Response time is high enough to play DOOM III and Unreal Tournament 2004. Sony designed new attractive monitor’s stand. So, it is nice looking monitor with wide length angles which is great for active games, routine work and movie entertainment.

Sony 17" LCD with X-Brite and DVI

Strengths: X-Brite technology, Vivid pictures, Fast response time, and DVI

Weakness: None

This 17" LCD is the best one I have ever used. X-Brite makes a big difference and the monitor is shiny and bright. It is a breeze to eyes for websurfing and movies. Very good LCD fro everyday use. Eyes are not hurting after hours, thanks to the X-Brite and text-adjusting. Family is very satisfied with this LCD. Highly recommended.

Strengths: WOW!! great picture

Weakness: expensive but worth it.

Great picture i would not buy any other monitor. I have it hooked up to an ATI X1800 graphics card and it is awesome. Buy it you will love it.

My first test was to play a movie and it looked great then i played Doom 3 and the quality of the texture came out more than i have ever seen before in any other monitor it is like HD gaming.

Sony SDM-HS75P

Although it is short on bells and whistles, the HS75P/S is a good choice for people with limited desk space who are looking for a bright and shiny, well designed, and good performing display.
