Posted Jan 2, 2005 - I bought this as a gift to my wife and felt that having the extra accessories and the warranty would be a great thing to have. Plus it was a metal casing instead of the white plastic. So far she has loved using this new kitchen appliance because it saves so much time. I would recommend spendind the extra ~$50 to upgrade from the 14 cup white plastic cased precessor to this one if you were already planning on spending more for a great item.
