5 Star Review Old Style Quality -- Collector's Edition Feel

Strengths:

Very solid, well-built wooden case. All wood, no plastic pieces at all. Decent number of pieces for the money.

Weaknesses:

Case could be a bit heavy for smaller kids.

Posted Feb 27, 2008 - Unlike so many toys that are used for awhile and eventually tossed out, you'll want to hang onto this set for the grandkids to play with! The all-wooden pieces are such a nice break from the plastic construction of almost all of today's toys, and they just feel better than the plastic parts in current Lincoln Log sets. There are enough logs and parts included in this set that you won't feel you got ripped of buying this "Collector's Edition". The wooden case is very well made, but also quite heavy. Little kids may have some trouble lugging it around as it weighs close to 20 pounds when full of blocks. The corners are reinforced with wood bracing, and the handle is real leather with real brass fittings. There is also a small brass plate with a collector's serial number on it. The initial cost is higher on this set than what you'd pay for a tin of Lincoln Logs at your local toy store, but the pleasure of owning this set will last a lifetime. Highly recommended.

5 Star Review My daughter likes it

Strengths:

Sturdy, quality, nice package and instructions.

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Feb 17, 2008 - Since it's too cold to go outside, I bought this for my daughter so she can play at home. My fist impression when I got it is it's really heavy (according to Amazon, 18.8 lbs). This Lincoln log set is sturdy and my daughter enjoys playing it. It took hours for her to build a cabin with chimneys, and she absolutely loves it and feels proud about her construction works. I would say this toy brings much more fun than any other fancy electronic toys. I recommend it to anyone who wants to give his/her little one a chance to build something.

5 Star Review Fantastic Lincoln Logs set

Strengths:

Just like the set you had when you were a kid, all wooden, great storage box

Weaknesses:

None found

Posted Feb 8, 2008 - If you loved Lincoln Logs as a kid (like I did) and you've been looking for a nice set for your own child, stop right here. This is the set that you want. Without even opening the box, you can tell by the weight that these are not your standard, plastic, disposable toy. Inside, you will find a great set of all wooden pieces that can be used to built dozens of different buildings (not all at the same time, of course). You will definitely find yourself transported back to your childhood and may even have to be repeatedly called to dinner from your (and your kid's) latest Lincoln Logs project on the family room floor. Sure, all the toys that light, buzz, sing, and dance have their place in modern childhoods, but Lincoln Logs have stood the test of time, and this set is the best that I've seen.

5 Star Review Excellent toys for kids 5 and older

Strengths:

Great wooden case excellent storage system. The classic all- wood pieces.

Weaknesses:

It is kind of pricey

Posted Dec 15, 2007 - Lots of people complain most of the Lincoln Log has the plastic roof instead of wooden roof, this K\\\'nex Collector\\\'s Edition Lincoln Logs Wooden Case takes us all back to time. 19 lbs of wooden blocks allow you or your children to expand his or her building skill as well as their imagination. My kids love to play with this set all the time, just love watching them spending hour on the table and the best is, this wooden case does do the trick that encourage them to pick up after themselves. I would say it $90 dollars well spend on this good quality toy
