Strengths:An excellent portable device - quick, easy to use
Weaknesses:sound could be improved
Posted Nov 28, 2007 - Still the quickest and most portable gaming system even in this age of DS and PSP portables. The new systems pile on the higher rez which is great, but for quick pick-up and go gaming, the GBA is still the standard. The screen is a major plus with good brightness for playing anytime. The battery has decent playing-time between charges.
The GBA also has a strong library to pick from at decent prices. The sound system is somehwat limited, but that's also not a major deal.
The top shoulder "L" and "R" buttons are still a bit tricky to incorporate into your gaming. They don't feel intuitive, which is a rare oversight for a nintendo machine, they usually have the best controls around. But most games make use of these buttons seldom, so it's really not that big of a problem.
BOTTOM LINE: A great, established well-designed system for gamers on the move who don't want endless complexity in their games.
