Strengths: variety of levels, unlockables
Weakness: learning curve re: use combo moves and character abilities
I haven’t played this much as it’s my daughter’s game. She makes me play it when she can’t get past a certain level. However, in the levels I have played, it’s an enjoyable platformer with good smooth graphics and rich backgrounds.
It’s pretty easy to pick up and play in the early levels. However, you’ll need to use the different combo moves and strengths of each character to get by in some of the levels. Basic moves will not get you too far but you’ll figure how to use the different moves/strengths through experimentation.
The good thing I enjoy about this title is that from what I can tell, there are no time limits to get through the levels other than the forced scrolling levels. Comparing this aspect in New Super Mario Bros, I really enjoy the game, but it gets frustrating when time runs out if I happen to miss a coin or power up. In DKC3, I can take my time and backtrack if I need to w/o having to worry about a time limit.
