reborndata - (December 23, 2005) My business has me driving all over town to new locations regularly, and I have a laptop in the car, so at about $100, this unit seemed worth trying before plunking down $1000 for an in-car unit. Turned out to the best best $100 I ever spent. I've been using the unit for over a year, and haven't been tempted by any alternatives. The nRoute software is fully-featured, and well-designed for in-car use. Voice prompts are clear and helpful, and the display scales to take advantage of the full size of the laptop screen, with upcoming street names printed in very large text. There are a variety of view and display options, some of which are better suited for driving, others are better f

5 Star Review BLUETOOTH GPS RECEIVER FOR LAPTOP/PDA

walker023 - (May 31, 2004) This is the best GPS receiver I have ever used. I've tried the Copilot Travroute GPS jacket and the Pharos iGPS 360. The Copilot always dropped the signal, and the Pharos BT transmitter broke after 4 months of use. The Belkin receiver has worked perfectly with Copilot's software as well as it's own software package. The included app contains a great detour feature that let's you choose which streets/highways to avoid! On the device's best day I picked up 9 of 9 satellites. The battery life is outstanding. The high sensitivity mode works great in urban areas. When I entered a tunnel, the signal cut out (like any other device would) but as soon as I exited it picked up the satellite si

joerye - (April 02, 2004) The TomTom Palm Bluetooth is great. The instructions were vague, and I called support staff. They (Jason) resolved the problem and it was up and running with no problems. Later I asked for an additional vent bracket and it arrived in 2 days. Bottom line; Great GPS for the money & support staff is great!

3 Star Review Awesome at geo-tagging photos for Google Earth

PriceGKeng - (09/30/2008) Relatively easy to use the Pharos provided "Trip and Pics" software to geo-tag photos into Google Earth. However, it's currently not as easy to import GPS coordinates into JPGs. From reading some blogs, I understand Pharos will update their "Trip and Pics" software so that EXIF data can be modified/updated with GPS in a upcoming release. I'm still waiting....

2 Star Review Earthmate LT-40 is a distant second to Microsoft's Streets & Trips for most of us

jimmytaps - (07/12/2008) Delorme lured my hard-earned money into this purchase by offering two rebates for this product. After the maximum posted waiting period, I received a notice stating I was ineligible for the rebate as it hadn't been posted within the promotion period. I mailed my thoroughly prepared rebate submission well within the rebate period on THE DAY I received the shipment from the merchant. Simply, Delorme is defrauding consumers its products in order to boost sales against Microsoft. While not a big fan of Microsoft, I can say their product blows this one away for most drivers, especially now that they offer the two-way traffic assistance and redirect. The Delorme LT-40 could conceivably be better if you do most of your driving in marginal reception areas, or if you are interested in paying a lot more for the professional maps available from delorme's website. The social networking site delorme set up has yet to really be worth visiting, though this could change in a year or so. At full retail, this product is not worth it. If the rebates of $30 were paid, it would be a fair value.

3 Star Review Does it Job But Has Some Kinks

Bforprez - (07/10/2008) Its an ok program. I have the Tom Tom program for my phone too and with all the flaws that one has I think its a bit better driving wise because it never freezes and loads quickly. As for side options go the Garmin system gives you access to traffic conditions, weather and gas prices all for free. I am hoping they update the software soon to fix the bugs in this current one.
