Not bad for the money

Strengths: small, light weight, user friendly, SD card slot.

Weakness: Cant use a Lat. Long. to find a place. No USB cable to connect to computer.

I found the 3200 to be user friendly, and simple to operate. The voice is clear, and understandable. No updated maps as of yet, but it is fairly new. You will need either an SD card or a USB cable to update, neither of which is included.

Maestro 3200

Strengths: I really enjoy the GUI (Graphical User Interface) this unit has and the plethora of POIs.

Weakness: Some of the letters will press visually (mostly the "E") but the system won't input the character.

Charge it and use it, The 3200 is very simple and awesome to use. This is my first unit, it is thin and easy to pocket. The window suction cup mount is the best. It comes w/lighter socket power adapter and internal battery.

Magellan 3200

Strengths: slim; light weight; clarity

Weakness: could be longer battery life

I recently purchased this new magellan product. The price was very competitive. It is pretty accurate and the clarity is good. Since it is portable, the battery life could be longer.

Why pay $10.00 a day to Hertz

Strengths: Thin, lightweight (not cheap lightweight)clear directions, easy to use. This is the one to buy if you want the basics of a GPS with voice directions. It fits perfectly in my Laptop bag.

Weakness: No USB port and short battery life if you are using it to walk around with.

Hertz uses Magellan for there Never Lost GPS with is optionally available for about $10.00 a day when you rent there cars. I rent a lot of cars for business travel and have never had the budget to pay for the Never Lost GPS, but on several occasions was upgraded to a car with the GPS installed. Quite frankly once I started using it I was hooked. Find the nearest gas station when I am returning a rental car - no problem. Need Starbucks in the AM - no problem. (Well yes they are everywhere without using a GPS but its still fun to use!) I was originally attracted to the wide screen models, but when this unit came on sale at Best Buy during the Black Fridays Ads at under $200 I just bought it, hoping I would not be disappointed by its size.
For my needs it has been perfect. I pop it in my laptop bag and use the included suction cup mount and charger when I pick up my rental car. I have almost forgotten how to use "mapquest":) I am giving the unit 5 stars based on the price/feature - performance ratio.

maestro 3200

Strengths: small, light and easy to program

Weakness: does not pronounce the street names

This is the third GPS unit I've owned. This is by far the easiest to program. As an example, to progran an address, the unit asks for the city first. When you put in the street only the first few letters are needed before it gives you a list of streets in that city that use those first few letters. The voice is clear and easy to understand.

Magellan Maestro 3200

Strengths: Reasonably priced

Weakness: None noted

In my opinion, this is a very good entry level unit. I recently purchased both the Magellan Maestro 3200 and Magellan's 4250. While the 4250 has more features and is a "widescreen" model, it really wasn't worth the $200 difference in price. We use both in vehicles driven daily for business and they are saving a considerable amount of time and frustration in routing from one site to the next.

If you buy it you are on you own

Strengths: just an average gps

Weakness: customer support

Magellan has VERY POOR customer service. It has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB. Customer service and technican support is in India--it is the WORST.

excellent price

Strengths: SD slot expandable, small , lightweight , portable.

Weakness: charger is proprietary

If you can get one at good price ($99 or so), it is a deal. The GPS works well and it is expandable via SD card slot. Here is a trick to extend the battery: You can get close to 3 hours out of the battery if dim the display to very low output. I was able to upgrade the amount of POI's...you can too, if you look for them online. My experience has been overall positive, although once in while it take more than a minute or two to lock on to the satellites. The charger is proprietary; so I had to buy a AC/DC adapter for the unit.
