cyberfilmmaker - (September 26, 2006) There are many negative reviews on the web saying this device doesn't work. Well it does work if you know how. A] Make sure you use an USB 2.0 connection (far more bandwidth than USB 1) B] If you can save/grab your video to a second hard drive. This is very common in audio and video work. You won't get any dropped frames. C] Use the provided CAMERAMATE software only to install the drivers for this device. The supplied application is worthless! C2] Use Microsoft MOVIEMAKER (free ) to grab your video.Use the highest settings possible (eg biggest size/bitrate 2 Megabits second). You are now able to capture AVI video footage (I got 640x480 pixel size/30 frames per second) D] If you want to cr

paulettemoudakis - (August 06, 2004) I've burned 5 DVD's now of converted VHS tapes and have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use this device and the quality of the resulting DVD's. I was looking for an easy to use method to transfer some of my old VHS tapes to DVD while the tapes were still readable. While the quality obviously isn't the same as a commercial DVD, it is equal to or slightly better than the original VHS. The packaged software is fairly easy to use and has more editing options than I expected. This unit will also allow direct capture from your TV, video cam, VCR, etc., so there are a lot of options for capture. I haven't done any direct capture from cable yet, but plan on testing that soon. I really

vidmar - (December 22, 2004) I purchased this card after reading many reviews of the GF 6600GT series of cards, especially the XFX version of this card. Needless to say I am quite disappointed with what I received. FYI: The card you see pictured above is not the one you will receive. XFX has changed their production process for their 6600GT series of cards. No longer will you get 1.6ns memory, they are now including 2.0ns. Which by itself it not necessarily bad, but every review currently out there was done with the 1.6ns memory. You will not be able to get the same results that the reviewers have gotten in the past. The worst part of the changes XFX made with this card was the heat sink and cooler. The coo

pangepange - (11/16/2009) Plugged into an external ariel the Compro U80 picks up 27 TV & radio channels. It is missing a number of channels I can receive via a freeview box plugged into the same external ariel. The missing channels include the ITV, Channel4 and Five groups of channels. Those channels it does receive are prone to break up and interference. The supplied software (DTV) works well once I eventually got it to install.

yotaruvegeta - (10/24/2009) What a mess. The Sabrent website provides a .rar file with programs, text files drivers, etc. but the drivers are now useless and the help file isn't helpful for any basic troubleshooting. Doesn't seem to work with Dscaler, which is probably the best free program out there for TV tuners. As an alternative, I found Sage TV, which is trialware that allowed me to get video, but the video is delayed. Not ideal for use with a PS3 gaming system. Sometimes it's better to go with the newer model, with the more expensive model, or both. Plug-and-play should be a piece of cake.
