Fast and Quiet

Strengths:

Fast, quiet and cool.

Weaknesses:

No real cons at all.

Posted Feb 17, 2008 - It's fast and quiet. I used it for my thinkpad and it is working perfectly fine. The installation was pretty easy too. It runs cool and its price is also good. This hard drive is pretty much everything I wanted.

Easy install, no problems

Strengths:

Good price for good storage space, good speed

Weaknesses:

Drive vibrates a bit more than a slower laptop drive, likely diminishes battery life a bit

Posted Feb 13, 2008 - Given that this is a 5400RPM drive, it is definitely a faster drive than the 60GB Seagate drive (likely 4200RPM) originally installed in my MacBook. It vibrates a bit more, but gives me better speed and better capacity. It's still is pretty quiet though. In the retail box which I purchased this drive, there were no instructions except for a piece of paper that recommended professional installation. For some laptops that don't make HD replacement easy, that might be the case. But if your manufacturer makes instructions for installing a SATA drive in a laptop, you'll be in good shape. There's no slave/master issues with a SATA drive that you'd face with an IDE drive... Popping the mounting bracket from the MacBook was simple and then I simply formatted it for HFS+ and installed a fresh Leopard copy. No bad sectors or anything else that Mac OS has detected yet, so things are looking good. Nevertheless, it's a hard drive, so who knows what might happen...

Posted Feb 10, 2008 - Received package much faster than expected. Happy with service, I would recommend. I dont much care for the 30 word minimum review though Pricegrabber. now I just have to sit here and type crap! Really.... whos ever heard of a minimum!!!Geez... well that should be 30 now.

The perfect Macbook Replacement!

Strengths:

Fast, Inexpensive, High Capacity for a very low price!

Weaknesses:

A bit noisier then the old internal...but not that much.

Posted Sep 16, 2007 - If your Macbook's internal died (3 months after the warranty expired...DANGIT) this is perfect for you. Its also great for a capacity boost, or for a PS3 or Xbox360!!!!

Nice drive

Strengths:

Quiet, Western Digital reliability

Posted Sep 14, 2007 - I purchased this 2.5 drive to use in my EZ-Swap external HDD enclosure as a backup drive. The Scorpio 120GB is very quiet. As an owner of 5 other Western Digital drives I expect this drive to be just as reliable.

Posted Nov 28, 2006 - The drive is plenty quiet, and installation was a snap in a Core Duo MacBook. Pulled out the old drive, popped in the new, booted from a firewire drive, and restored the last image. BootCamp worked without a hitch
