Great External Solution
No power supply needed! HUGE space!
1 yr warranty, proprietary cable, might need 2 usb ports
Posted Dec 12, 2006 - I got this for storing my miniDV captures, and I love it! I reformatted to NTFS (default is FAT32) so I could take advantage of larger file sizes I'll need for video. I have the 100gb version of this as well, and I have never had a problem! the only problems I've heard (that don't really affect me) is that it uses a proprietary cable, so if you lose it you can't use the drive! the 100gb one I own uses the same cable so I have a backup now, and can use the same cable :) also, i'd bet you can find one on ebay if you really needed it... also, it might need two usb ports for power, which might be a problem with older laptops. my e1505 has 4 ports, and are powerful enough that I don't have to use the two ports, just one :) finally, there is only a 1 yr warranty, since it's external... take care of your drive and you'll be okay. i should mention that I'll have paid only $60 after rebates on black friday, and I wouldn't pay more than that, but only because i'm cheap :) great buy, great product! -SelArom
