Western Digital Passport External 120GB Hard Drive (USB 2.0, 5,400 RPM, 2MB)
Large capacity; reasonable price; super quiet; no "warranty void if removed" stickers on the case, if you're wanting to remove the drive to upgrade your laptop.
USB powered (does not work on older laptops), case is difficult to open if you want to remove drive, case edges are angle ( /__/ ) so you can't stand it sideways.
Posted Feb 2, 2007 - Like most other 2.5" portable drives, it only comes with a single USB cable that is supposed to be bus powered. But this doesn't work on most older notebooks and you will need to plug it into a powered hub or purchase a different cable from Western Digital ($9.99 + s/h). Overall, I like it better than the 80GB ION drive I purchased a few months earlier, seeing it didn't cost much more and has 50% more space. It's a great drive for backing up several laptops or storing lots of files/music that you want to have protable.
