Capacity Upgrade

Strengths:

large capacity, small footprint, quietness

Weaknesses:

3 year warranty is not as long as seagate's 5 year warranty.

Posted Sep 12, 2007 - I bought this hard drive to go along with a SATA external enclosure. The combined large capacity and small footprint makes it extremely attractive as a day-to-day backup drive for my laptop. It is as quiet as an equivalent seagate 5400rpm drive. It does get hot for extended operation, such as de-fragmentation. But it is on par with other 5400rpm 2.5" drive I used before. Minimal vibration in comparison to 7200rpm hard drives. This drive is slightly shorter than the regular 2.5" disk.

good choice

Strengths:

fast, low noise, stable operation

Weaknesses:

5400 RPM speed, not 7200 rpm

Posted Dec 15, 2007 - This 250GB hard driver, which means huge space for you! I upgraded 80GB to 250GB. it is compatible with Window XP without any problem. There is low heat and noise as well. I formatted this 250GB and divided two partitions at one time, which means it is so stable hard driver.

Weaknesses:

None so far.

Posted 1 year ago - Western Digital is a namesake in computer hard drive retail. This HD should prevent me from having to buy a new PC until after the whole Microsoft Vista experiment ends.
