C. J. C - (August 01, 2004) This seems to be another high quality product typical of Iomega! It was easy set up and it auto-configures with WinXP.It's quiet and very fast. It has little inset rubber legs so it sits well on top of a floor PC. And it looks sleek with a blue power light that matches my Sony. The only thing that's a pain is that it doesn't turn off automaticallly at shutdown. But maybe Iomega will come out with a driver for it that does that.

jayhall0315 - (January 08, 2006) (Jan 6th, 2008) Every few months one of the five or so large drive manufacturers (Western Digital, Maxtor, Hitachi, etc) comes out with a new hard drive claiming revolutionary advancements. This crap is almost never true, but with the 150 GB Raptor we finally have a drive that trys to live up to some of its billing. If you are an enthusiast, power user, rich or just plain hate the slow boot times of Windows, then these Raptors are your ticket. The model I am reviewing here is the Raptor X and includes a clear window in the top plate. There is another version of the 150 GB Raptor as well, with the primary difference being that it does not have the window and is therefore quieter. Western Di

jhuang711 - (August 11, 2004) Maxtor does it again with its DiamondMax line. This one of the few products that has the large 300GB capacity and the faster SATA interface. I use this drive primarily for DVD Authoring and Burning and it works great!

jekylltech - (10/29/2009) The Enclosure automatically creates a fake CDROM on your system for device software. Thus if you remove the drive (SATA 320GB WD 5400RPM) and attach it internally the drive will not be recognized and you can NOT recover your data. Thus if the enclosure ever fails, like you damage the small, uncovered USB hold, all your data is UNRECOVERABLE unless you purchase another IDENTICAL model. Thus I wouldn't recommend it for this purpose and thus is the reason I took the time to review this drive.
CRMMechanics - (10/15/2009) One of the benefits of purchasing older drives is the fact that they are proven products. It's so difficult to "buy in" to the 1TB SATA craze especially when the manufacturer chooses to "test" the product AFTER it's been released to market. Each time I've purchased a 1TB drive, I've had to return half the drives for replacement. Not so with IDE drives, and certainly not the case with WD SATA or IDE products. You can't go wrong when going with WD.
