Shure e2C earbuds

Strengths: Great sound

Weakness: none

These are the best sounding earbuds I've ever used. Makes me wonder how the next step up sounds. Of course, they're twice the price and outta my range. Then again, I never thought I'd pay close to a hundred bucks for earbuds in the first place.

Sound great, look cool.

Strengths: Sound quality, accessories, quality, look, sound isolation

Weakness: takes a bit getting use to putting them in your ears right.

I'm happy with my Shure E2C purchase. They feel well made and what with their great sound quality, it feels like a good purchase. I really enjoy the sound isolation. Keeps the many loud sounds that I encounter and don't want out of my ears so I can enjoy the Dawn and Drew show or some nice tunes. The nice round headphone case is nicely made too and useful. For my money and needs these feel like a nice product of merit that I happily support with my dollar votes. Recommended.

Superb Headphones (Earbuds)

Strengths: Great Sound | No Background Noise | Comes with Case | Only $58.30 (Sorry Circuit City Employees Only)

Weakness: Wired feeling, when being inserted in the ear canal

Overall I am very happy with my purchase. These are the best sounding headphones I ever had; best part is now I cant here my sister screaming at me. They feel a bit awkward, but they are built high quality not like the Sony ones I hear about. I have no problems with the bass at all, unlike some others say. I am using it on the iPod Video and it is great; Stylishness.

Great Earphones

Strengths: Great Sound Quality, Lots of Fitting Options, Good Outside Sound Isolation

Weakness: None

I recently took these earphones to the otherside of the world from Philadelphia to China. I used them primarily on the airplane and was extremely pleased. The earphones came packaged with a fit kit that included many different options for getting the perfect fit for your ears. It takes a few minutes to get used to the way these earphones feel, but after that, they are quite comfortable. I like the way the cord for each bud wraps around the top of your ear; that keeps the earphones secure even if you tug on the cords. The noise isolation made a huge difference on the airplane, and really helped me relax without the drone of the engines or the noise of other people talking. With music going, I couldn't even hear the flight attendants ask me if I'd like a drink. I am not too much of an audiophile, but the sound quality from these earphones is great (after reading other reviews, that's the main reason I purchased them). Overall, I am very pleased, and these earphones are well worth the price.

E2c Sound Isolating Earphones, Black

Strengths: Very nice isolate earphones, it comes with some accesories fit with the ears. I like the design and the color of this earphones.

Weakness: Cable

I like this e2c shure earphones with quality control. It really feels like there is no sound surrounded. It also will fit to our ears because it has a small rubber on the end of the earphones. It is well constructed earphones that I have ever used.

Great earphones!

Strengths: Very light, the design is very sharp. The cables are long, perfect for working out. Once you snug it in your ear, the sound quality is so good that you'll forget that you are wearing this pair.

Weakness: None. Easy to use.

The sound quality is very good. Strong bass. They fit perfectly in your ear, not too tight, just right. Tried different kinds of music, from psy to classic, and its outstanding.

Great earphone

Strengths: The quality of sound is great. Good base and it doesn't crack when the volume is high. Nice carry case.

Weakness: Have to try on all the ear pieces for in order to get a best sound.

It's almost as good as sennheiser HD590 headphone I have. I was hesitate at first but it's worth every penny of it after I listen to it. The best earphone I have listen to it by far. It is surprisingly comfortable.

The best ear phone!

I have been through many ear phones and this one simply is the best (also the most expensive one :-). It isolates the noise of the outside world and allows me to enjoy my music and my music only.

Best I've ever had!!!

Strengths: Good BASS for portable headphones. Nice case to carry'em with while traveling.

Weakness: A little bit inconvenient to get them adjusted in so as to receive better audio.

Other than that, they are absolutely perfect. I came to purchase them after I had tested Sony MDR-51. This pair of headphones beat sony in audio big time. I enjoy them very much.

Sleek design & Unparalled sound Quality

Strengths: Strong, thick wires and overall build quality was impressive. Perfect for those who aren't as careful with stuff that they own.

Weakness: Takes a while to get used to putting them on - it definitely takes a little practice. Lack of bass.

I listen to a lot of hiphop/dance music that's just straight up bassy. Unfortunately, these headphones don't perform as I expected in that regard, especially for the price. They are however, true "noice cancelling" earbuds.

Awesome pair of earphones!

Strengths: Bass (yes these little things can "bump"), intelligent design, case, cord

Weakness: Rubber sleeves are bit uncomfortable

This things are amazing. Bass on these is impecable. I would have never imagined a pair of headphones (in-ear headphones) this small would ever aceive the sub level that this one can when a good seal is achieved. The design on this pair of headphones was enough for me to purchase these over etymotics. Much more advanced, shirt/belt spring-clips are perhaps an accessory for a pair of pocket-change earbuds, but when you make the step to a pair of higher-end headphones, you'd expect intelligent design, and this gives that to you. They plug into your hears and then instead of dropping like it's hot out of your ears to the front of your body to a clip that has to be trusted to keep these from falling out, shure got smart. These direct the [thick] wire upwards and around the top of the ear to prevent fall-outage, and are very effective. Thy go around the rear of the neck/head where a clear plastic sleeve tightens around the neck to further secure the unit in the head. they go around the read keeping the [thick] cord from getting in your way in front of you. Now that I have used the word "thick" enough, I might explain. These earphones have a very quality cord that is thick and feels like it would never break. I think you could jump start a car with them if you had to.... The system comes witha zipper case that is very compact and provides a safe environment to your new toys. The bad? The rubber sleeves are a bit uncomfortable, not at all overly so. I have been wearing them as I am writing this review and have already forgot I was wearing them (that would be, if I could ignore the wonderful sound that is filling my ears). They offer soft silicon sleeves that are supposed to be a bit more confortable (a future purchase of mine). So whatever you choose, due to impecable design, lower price, and great sound etymotic is trailing it seems. I haven't heard the etymotics, but again, I care not to, thin cords and bad design aren't a turn on to me. I will save you the cliché "I am shure" play on words and just say that these earphones are one of the better things you can do with the 62.99 that is in your back pocket at the moment. I am not into propoganda, but if I was, I'd say join the bandwagon and shag a pair for yourself. It is a good thing martha.

Some really great earphones!!!!

Strengths: Excellent Quality. Lifelike sound with quality music. comfortable.

Weakness: Price and cord length.

just received these headphones yesterday and I must say I'm impressed. For being so small these are with out a doubt the best i have ever had. but it should for the price. Mid tones are crisp and clear with none of that faint buzz you find in the cheap earphones. Came with a 2 year warranty. no problem with the sound what so ever. very happy with the purchase.

Great, but loud

Strengths: Blocks sound by plugging ear and doesn't have active noise canceling which generates white noise and I find annoying. I can hear stuff in music now that I didn't even know was there.

Weakness: I have my iPod on the lowest volume setting possible in the office and its a little loud. Seriously, the volume meter is only 1 pixel wide.

They should include another volume control inline with the wire since no portable music players aren't designed to used with headphones which plug your ear.

Besides that serious flaw it is a great headphone...sound is awesome. Makes a huge difference. I can't even hear myself typing this review. You don't need active noise canceling which degrades the sound.

Shure E2c Sound Isolating Earphones

Strengths: Great sound quality, no background noise, comfortable!

Weakness: Kind of expensive

These are excellent sounding earbuds. They have great sound quality, no background noise at all, very comfortable to wear. Although the price is kind of high. But it definitely worth that price! Highly recommended!

my best earphone ever

Strengths: lots of accessories, cool looking and sound isolation

Weakness: the wire is a bit shorter then I expected, and the wax guard thing, took me hours to figure out.

Overall this is my best earphone ever. I did have a tough time at beginning to get the proper fit. Fit was awesome and ALL sound was blocked out. The Bass is awesome and the sound is awesome too.

Shure E2c Earphones - Black

Strengths: Excellent sound, built like a tank, reasonably priced, good fit customization options.

Weakness: Built like a tank (heavy and large), no built-in sound tube screen.

I vacillated quite a while on whether to purchase these earphones due to their cost compared to similarly featured competitors. Fortunately, the E2c earphones have excellent sound and good construction, which fit my needs just fine.

I did not find them as difficult to install as many are reporting, though I did sample the various plug sizes in the fit kit just to be sure I wasn't overlooking something.

The heavier weight of the earphones (including cord) was a surprise. These things should last forever. The downside is that they feel a bit heavier on the ear and interfere somewhat with my eye-glasses compared to my old earphones.

One feature that is missing (in my view) is a mesh screen covering for the sound tubes such as Sennheiser uses. Shure includes goofy little stickers instead, which seem cheapy at best, and at worst could fall inside your ear if they came loose. Talk about an after-thought...

I'm no audiophile, but these earphones produce a what I would call a very accurate sound, full of presence. It really seems as though the musicans are right in the room playing and singing; I enjoy that aspect of the Shures and so am pleased with my purchase overall.

E2C The best earphones for the price?

Strengths: Excellent frequency distinction. Clear and crisp high frequency response. Definitely awesome for medium to high frequencies. These are also great at blocking out unwanted noise, even if it is passive.

Weakness: Low frequencies are not as defined. You have to stick these quite deep into your ear in order to get the bass to sound even remotely deep.

Generally these are pretty darn good earphones. A very well defined med-high frequencies reproduction, however the bass is significantly lacking. Do not expect these to pump out hip-hop very well, these are definitely meant for the more refined taste of jazz or classical music. The earphones are awesome at blocking out unwanted noise, and even though it is passive. It fills your ear canals and blocks out ambient noise like a champ.

I feel these earphones are definitely good if you can get them cheaper than their retail price.

E2c Sound Isolating Earphones, Black

Strengths: Great quality

Weakness: A little expensive!!

There are some inconsistent reviews on the sound quality of these earphones, basically it comes down to how you like to listen to your music. If you like to press "bass Xpand" button on your stereo for that booming sound ,you may be dissapointed with the "flat" sound coming out of these earphones. Those of you who keep that "direct" button on on your amps will love the clean ,detailed sound of E2c.Remember that most music is in the midrange frequency.Listening to dance/trance or hip hop, I sometimes wish for deeper bass. But true bass is difficult to reproduce in small earphones. The illusion of deep bass in some cheap earphones is just that...an illusion. As for the fit and comfort I have no complaints. If youre not sure whether you'll like insert phones, get yourself a pair of foam ear plugs and try to wear them for a while. That will give you an indication of how you're going to tolerate them. The only discomfort comes from the wraped cords around my ears after few hours of listening.
The quality is excellent, the cord is long and the case is nice. These will outlast a cheap pair many times over.Recommended.

E2c Sound Isolating Earphones, Black

Strengths: great earphones for iPod

The Shure e2's have it all. They are the first pair I've owned that stay in position in my ear even when I'm cycling or working out. The sound quality is amazing. I am an avid CD collector. Recently, I finally capitulated and got an MP3 player. In the past, I listened to CD's on my portable player and the sound was great. When I switched to MP3's, I didn't really notice too much difference. With the e2's, the difference is obvious. I can hear the dynamic range so well that I can tell that there are frequencies missing. It's still better than not being able to tell.

How badly do you want your good sound?

Strengths: Amazing audio compared with lower price points. Blocks sound very well.

Weakness: Foam buds, intial configuration time.

If you want great sound, you'll get it from these. The sound isolation is excellent once a proper fit is obtained, but for me this required the foam buds. (See comments on this below). I found that if you roll the foam between a finger and your thumb to compress it, and then hold it in your ear until it expands, you'll get the best possible sound isolation.

From the other reviews on this and other sites, I expected excellent audio, and also expected it would take a bit of configuration to get it. What I didn't expect from $100 earbuds was the unmatched foam buds. I'm flabbergasted that Shure couldn't find black foam for us.. instead we're sent a faded orange bud that just looks goofy. -1 Star for the oversight on a 5-star pair of earbuds.

Pretty good headphone

Strengths: *Good sound quality *Comfortable *Blocks ambient noise decently *Hard case is really helpful

Weakness: *Need to be positioned just right, or bass response is not too good *Finding right position in the ear and which cover can take some work *Doesn't deaden all noise

I bought these to replace my Koss PortaPros, and am very happy with them. While it took a while to figure out which ear inserts would work best to give me proper bass response, and how to position them in my ear, once I got it right I was quite happy with the sound quality. The ambient noise reduction is also useful at work. I've tested them with rock and jazz, and they sound better than the Koss's - they ought to, being about 1/3 more expensive.

They do not deaden all sound, however, which I tested by wearing them while mowing the lawn.

Excellent Sound Reproduction

Strengths: Great Sound, much better than the oem headphones that came with my Zen V.

Weakness: Could use clip on cord to prevent tangles

Overall a great product. The E2c's come with multiple ear pieces for comfort and correct fit. Of special note, the correct fit is a must, the ear pieces that were installed in the original packaging were not a good fit for me. A bad fit means inadequate base response.

Excellent Choice

Strengths: Fit well, sound great

Bought this product for a trip from MD to Kauai. I used it in conjunction with my Sirius radio. The earphones were comfortable on the plane trip and blocked out all unwanted noise. At poolside they really worked well keeping all of the noise including loud cell phone users. I purchased after reading the various reviews on this site.

Okay consumer IEM

Strengths: Excellent Construction

Weakness: Poor response at both ends of the audio spectrum

I had expected higher quality based on the shure brand and much experience with other shure products. This particular item represents Shure bringing their quality standards way down to create a consumer level product. Setting the EQ curve of your player to "loudness" does a decent job counteracting the deficiencies in these monitor's frequency response.

E2c Sound Isolating Earphones, Black

Strengths: excellent sound

Weakness: comfort

E2C is a excellent sounding earphone but it is very uncomfortable - ear cushion that comes with set is very stiff.
I had to return it because it was too uncomfortable.

Try Them Before You Buy

Strengths: Good sound IF you can get a good fit.

Weakness: Even with all the different ear buds included, I haven't been able to find a satisfactory match to my ears, so the bass sound is very weak much of the time.

In the future I wouldn't purchase a relatively expensive item (for what it is) without trying them first. Aside from the problem of getting a fit that provides consistently good sound, I find that they slip from my ears relatively easily. My experience doesn't mean that someone else might not find them a great buy (after all I did purchase them after reading a couple of favorable reviews).
