5 Star Review Bose lives up to its reputation!

Strengths:

Sound clarity, cleanliness, and extremely comfortable

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Dec 2, 2005 - Products with the Bose name are synonomous with quality and performance. You will not be disappointed with these QuietComfort 2 headphones! The price may intimidate many. But it is well worth the price if you expect only the best! These headphones do just as well for listening to music as they do just to keep things around you "quiet." Yes, you can use these just to filter out noise. A friend of mine from Mclean Va let me try his QuietComfort headphones a couple years ago. I was convinced on getting one. I'm just sorry it took me so long. No other companys' headphones do this as well as Bose! Bose is pure engineering. Accept no others... Buy one! You even get a nice case, a few accessories, and a CD player!

5 Star Review You Get What you Pay For

Strengths:

Unsurpassed noise cancelation, great sound. Smaller than typical over the ear headphones due to innovative pivot to fold flat

Weaknesses:

Large compared to in ear headphones.

Posted May 26, 2006 - To sum up how I feel about my Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Headset is that I get mad at myself if I find I have left them home when I go to the airport. The trip is torture when I don't have them with me. Using my non-noise cancelling earbuds I have to crank my Ipod to about 75% volume to hear on any airplane. Using the Bose I have my volume set to about 25% which is only slightly higher than when I listen in a quiet room. I also can say that with the Bose headphones I have repeatedly heard parts of musical passages that were not evident with other headphones or my home stereo. If you travel on airplanes often just go buy them. They are worth the cost. I had a piece break off the headset this year to my dismay. A quick call to Bose and I had a brand new set to replace the broken ones at no cost to me. Now that is customer service. Try that with any other company after almost 4 years and see if how pleased you will be. Bose was fantastic and I had the new headphones in 4 days, in time for my next flight out. Simply the best noise reduction phones.

5 Star Review Silence is Golden

Strengths:

Feeling og quality and luxury, eliminates noise

Weaknesses:

none to speak of

Posted Feb 12, 2008 - I can't compare these to other NC headsets, but I used them on a recent flight and the noise reduction was outstanding. The time flew by, and i was not fatigued due to the lack of noise. They work great even if you don't have music or sound playing. Very relaxing

5 Star Review WHY DIDN'T I BUY THESE A LONG TIME AGO??

Strengths:

Comfortable, fabulous stereo sound, noice cancelling is a great feature

Weaknesses:

N/A

Posted Feb 4, 2006 - This is my third pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Why didn't I just pop the $300 for these years ago? I was trying to save money, and what I did was go through two crummy (and not cheap) sets of "noise-cancelling" headphones...these are THE KING. The noise-cancelling feature is almost silent - doesn't hiss like the cheaper ones. I can disconnect the wires and wear the headphones when I'm working, to cancel out ambient noise. Or I can hook it to my iPod and WOW the sound is terriffic. Listening to an orchestral piece I could pick out the different instruments with ease. When I listened to a George Benson guitar solo I could hear his clothing when it brushed up against the guitar as he played. THAT is fabulous, detailed sound. If there is any way you can afford these, buy them! They come with a nice zipper case, jack adapters for several kinds of jacks, a long cord, battery. I also got a free Bose cd player as part of the deal - a VERY solid little player, not a ton of features but hey, for a freebie it is really nice.

5 Star Review Best Noise Cancelling Headphones

Strengths:

Serious noise cancellation, extremely comfortable, great for airplanes and airports, great sound reproduction

Weaknesses:

Size compared to earphones, needs a battery to run, funky connector system

Posted Nov 11, 2005 - For an ipod headphone solution these are really terrific. I also own etymotic er-6's and er-6i's and while they are more convenient for walking around with, the base phones are much more comfortable and much more effective at noise cancelling on an airplane. They can also be used on your stereo system, something you are not likely to use your earbuds for. The price is a little much, but Im glad I finally broke down and bought a pair, I use them much more than I thought I would and I wouldnt take another flight without them.3

5 Star Review Great for flying and noisy places

Strengths:

Noise Cancelling, Sound reproduction, Extremely Comfortable, Protective Case

Weaknesses:

Size when travel

Posted Feb 17, 2006 - I have had these headphones for a month now. Used for a trip to Europe and across US. It makes it a totally different experience flying so much nicer. I sometimes wear them just because! They are so comfortable that even after 8 hours and you take them of, you want to put them back on again to get the SILENCE. I have a Sharper Image noise cancelling headset too and these Bose are in a league by them self. The other pair was hissing and not really cancelling noise that well. The protective case is really nice. It will fit a small MP3-player inside, extra batteries and other things. The battery is required to use the headphones (even for music listening) but 1 AAA last at least 30 hours (i'm still on only my second battery).

4 Star Review check this review before buy !

Strengths:

comfort, noise canceling

Weaknesses:

big, size price, battery

Posted Apr 17, 2006 - Those headphones it’s the best for the following usage in order of performance or cost benefit: 1. for travel it’s the best headphone maybe even for one trip because if you need to learn or hear a music you will not hear the noise from the plane making very comfortable flight, the weakness is the big size, this bring two weakness: 1. if your wish to sleep from the side that will be not so comfortable because they are very big, 2. takes more space in the bag, you can put in your pocket. 2. In the train or subway also it’s the same advantage you get from the plane but we have two additional weakness: 1. in the subway or train you will be very attractive for stole or seems strange person, 2. when you travel by train or subway some time you hasn’t any bag like the plane. 3. office or at home will be good if you don’t want to hear any noise besides the music or a lesson, but the weakness is the wire I bought this to my uncle and I tested completely but this is not my style I prefer much more a small headset because I can use in any situation I use the Shure e4, but the Etymotic Research ER-4 MicroPro Earphones has better noise canceling more than Shure or Bose. if you need a small you should buy Shure e3 or e4 if you don’t have problem with the size buy Quiet Comfort Bose 2 95% of the reviews of some websites cheeked they approve the product.

5 Star Review They do actually work - from a cynic.

Strengths:

They do what they say.

Weaknesses:

Does not make tea.

Posted Oct 12, 2006 - I bought my headset because I damaged my hearing working on the lighting for a BBC Elton John concert. His PA runs at 125db minimum, but this was not the problem. I have to listen to production talkback, but because I had to crank it up so loudly to drown out the din in the auditorium I ended up damaging my hearing. After about two weeks my hearing returned to normal. I don't want to be deaf at 40 so I got some of these. I tried all the others but none of them work. We had them on trial at our studios and they went down well with the sound engineers so I bought some. Now I can hear my instructions from production in noisy venues without having to perforate my eardrums! Benefits on this model include big phones which provide a comfortable seal all the way around your ears helping to reduce noise from the outside. As for audio reproduction, they sound pretty good to me. In the UK this item can be classed as a Health and Safety accessory and their full value can be claimed back against tax - nice eh?

2 Star Review Overpriced with crappy sound quality

Strengths:

Quieter than normal headphones

Weaknesses:

Bad sound quality for the price, shoddy contruction

Posted Apr 26, 2008 - Bose is really like the overhyped name brand of audio for the mainstream. Do real audiophiles buy Bose? No. Simply because it's not the best and you can get better for less dough. Instead look at companies like AudioTechnica or Shure for great sound reduction or even better sound isolation (Shure).

2 Star Review Bose QuietComfort 2 Noise-Canceling Headset

Strengths:

Very comfortable, soft luxurious leather, and fit right into the ears.

Weaknesses:

Pricey compared to other noise-canceling headphones out there.

Posted Apr 4, 2006 - The headset was really comfy in my ears, however, I think they overrated the noice-cancelation feature on this headset. They should at least throw in a Bose CD or MP3 player with the $300 price-tag this set carry.
