Binaural - Semi-open - MPN: 141556
Strengths: Lifetime warranty, competitive price.
Weakness: My headphones came without instructions. (I'm awaiting a response from Koss customer service.)
An intriguing design, with "comfort pads" that supposedly are adjustable. The design is not intuitive, though, and without a manual, I remain confused about how to adjust these phones for comfort. Have not had a chance yet to put these to the listening test on Chicago's elevated trains, but preliminary tests indicate that, in terms of volume and frequency response, they are a step up from the phones that came with my Sony D-NF600 CD player. I do wish they could fold up into an even smaller package. (Although, again, without an instruction book, it's hard to say that I'm doing it exactly right.)

Update: Koss has confirmed that no instructions are available for these headphones. (An unfortunate decision.)
That said, the headphones deliver enjoyable sound despite background noise on CTA trains. So, for the price -- and with that lifetime warranty -- I'd say these are indeed a good buy.

TopStrengths: Lightweight, comfortable; good sound quality;
Weakness: Feels a little fragile when transporting it around
This is my second Koss headphone set. My other was the SportaPro. They are both very good sets. There is minimal sound leakage and they stay on the head comfortably.

Koss Porta Pro Headphones
Strengths: lightweight, collapsible, excellent sound quality
Weakness: somewhat difficult to keep expanded when not wearing
I did a fair amount of research on low-cost, portable headphones and have used a number of different brands of earbuds. It came down to Sennheiser or Koss. I chose Koss mainly because it's been around much longer and, other than a complaint or two about a pair breaking (among hundreds of reviews that I found) there weren't many complaints.
I've used these w/my Archos video player as well as plugged directly into a number of different airplane sound systems and highly recommend them. I didn't figure an open, non-noise cancelling set of headphones could make that much of a difference but these are worth every penny of the $45 or so they cost.
