Strengths: Blocks out white noise, and reduces random sounds. Sound quality is good. Works as headphones w/o batteries.
Weakness: Uncomfortable, Battery cover is cumbersome.
There is a very noticable reduction in white noise. I cannot hear the sound of the air ducts after flipping the switch. The music also improves with the batteries in. I can't wait to try this out on an airplane.

macally PODPRO Noise Reduction Stereo Headphone
Strengths: lightweight, good sound, inexpensive
Weakness: noise reduction could be improved.
The Mace group professional noise cancelling headset is an inexpensive product that does what it is suppose to do quite effectively. I have used it in noisy rooms and on coast-to-coast flights and the sound quality/noise reduction was very good (not excellent). Overall, I think that for this price you can not get anything better. I recommend this product to others that want to listen to some music without background noise and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for an headset.
