Well Worth the Money
Extremely accurate, waterproof transmitter, comfortable chest strap
Not terribly fashionable
Posted Jul 27, 2007 - Recently, my wife and I decided to get serious about our health. After reviewing all the options, we settled on Polar heart monitors because they had the right features and the best reputation. The pink F6 got her attention initially because it's one of the few "feminine" monitors in the lineup. But don't let the color fool you into thinking it's a toy. All of the F6 watches are serious business. Truthfully, you probably don't need anything that the more expensive units offer. This watch lets you enter your height/weight/activity level, tracks your workouts, alerts you when you're out of your target heart rate zone, and gives you a readout of your results when you're through. It also can transmit that data to your PC so you can upload and track your workouts with a free account on Polar's website. You can even create a custom logo and transmit that to the F6 from your PC. If it sounds complicated, it isn't. The watch walks you through everything with a first-use wizard, and the printed manual is very detailed and well done, too. If it were lost or stolen, we would purchase another Polar F6 in a heartbeat (sorry, couldn't resist)!
