Theniobium - (April 02, 2004) I've had this watch for about a week, and I'm overall very happy with it. The one thing I would claim as a nuisance is the fact that you have to hit 3 different buttons a total of about 16 times to turn on and off the audible "out of zone" alert. I have used this primarily for jogging so far, and it does a good job of keeping track of distance and heart rate (even while next to high voltage power lines). I can't account for the speed accuracy but it does seem OK. I got the optional data recorder (about $75) that comes with a software and proprietary usb cable. it's a handy way to track your heart (2 sec. increments) & speed/distance (3.5 sec increments) for days/weeks/years. bldxyz - (April 19, 2006) I wanted a heart rate monitor to help me train for a marathon, and I chose this one. While Polar doesn't specifically market the F6 as a runner's watch, it performs well enough without having to spend as much. The coded transmitter means I can wear it among other runners and not have cross-talk (validated when I was running right next to another guy who had a Polar monitor). The watch: I've seen a handful of other heart rate monitor watches, and I have to say, they tend to be square and ugly. This one has decent styling, especially in blue. While the watch is a little larger than what I ususally wear, even with my slim wrists, I could make it four notches tighter than what is comforta

1 Star Review Heart rate?

GonsKiing - (08/30/2009) To get a heart rate you have to press 2 buttons for 7 seconds. In that time you can take your own pulse rate. Useless! I'm taking it back!

5 Star Review For serious training

chucrutex - (08/06/2009) If you are looking for effective heart rate monitor, I guess this one is quite suitable. It has a very user friendly interface and doesn't miss a beat. When you're interested in training seriously, it is a good helper.

2 Star Review Garmin downgrade

willnmina - (08/03/2009) I love the looks; but if you buy a GPS watch you probably want functionality. This watch is way overengineered. Why not just add 2 buttons...get rid of the crazy bezel.
