My blinds were supposed to ship on 7/7 but they actually shipped on 9/3. Here is the email response from the company: Thank you for your email. Due to production delays, the Boardwalk Pleated Shades we reserved for you is scheduled to ship later than previously estimated. I am sorry for the extended delay on your order. I do apologize for the issues you have experienced with your order and would like to offer you a discount of $7 off of the order for the delay. The item is currently reserved for you and is expected to ship on or before 8/11. Please contact us within 7 days to let us know which offer you would like to accept. Select items, including your Boardwalk Pleated Shades, are shipped directly to you from the manufacturer, rather than from our distribution center. WILL NEVER ORDER AGAIN. On Feb 8, 2009, I ordered furniture. I was promised a $10 reward for every $50, which meant I would receive $200 credit. It would be sent SOMETIME BEFORE MARCH 25, BY EMAIL OR US MAIL, and needed to be used between March 25 and April 8. On March 25, I left for Rwanda for 2+ weeks; I still thought I would be receiving the email or US mail certificate and had my daughter watching at home. Nothing came. I called the minute I had a US phone again (April 11). I was informed I'd missed the the window and they couldn't help. They admitted many people didn't get the emails; those people were required to CALL IN to get the certificate. I explained I couldn't call since I was in Rwanda, and that I'd called the moment I returned. Wayne Ford, the supervisor for customer service, was VERY SORRY but couldn't help me. This feels like a scam designed to make it difficult (if not impossible) for people to receive rewards they're promised. |

I got a bech/slightly damaged, they apologzed, gave me a $75 credit and promised that it is very rare their furniture goes out with damage. I ordered a tilt out hamper after that, which came broken (even though the box and packing was fine.) They were so very sorry on the phone, sent me a prepaid lable for return and told me they'd refund the entire amount (including shipping) and quoted me the amount. Got a letter when they got the items, saying I see a refund in my next credit card bill. Got bill and found only the amount of the items were credited. Customer service guy acted like they never knew the products were damaged, said he could make an exception and refund my shipping. This is CLEARLY a SCAM! They figure you won't check your bill and they might get away with not doing what they promised when they were so very sorry for the damaged goods and inconvenience at the time you called to report it. I will never order from them again. |

I decided to cancel my order (lamp). I called and was advised they could not guarantee cancellation until the following tuesday because the order was shipping from a vendor. I called tuesday and they told me the order was absolutely cancelled at that point and would definitely not ship. So I went ahead and bought a lamp somewhere else. Then 2 days later, they sent me an email saying the lamp had shipped (on Monday, the day before before they told me it absolutely would not ship). I felt it was only fair that they pay me the return shipping cost, since they had told me it was cancelled, and I went out an bought another lamp based on that. They ran me in circles over that- at least 20 emails, where they kept denying they ever told me that the order was cancelled. They are completely untruthful and will run you through hoops until you give up. Avoid them at all costs, they are a mess. I have never been so frustrated, and I buy stuff online all the time with no problems. |

Home Decorators is a difficult vendor to deal with and my office furniture was of poor quality. Their delivery process and customer service is horrific! Upon numerous inquires, HD could never give me a definite date of delivery. They offered me "projected" delivery dates only. Forget about a delivery time, they expect you to wait around from 8AM- 6PM... For "a few days" for their delivery. Their customer service in resolving delivery issues is equally poor. After the delivery nightmare, I assembled the desk. While the desk parts were clearly labeled (that was good), but the desk parts were of very poor quality (not sturdy or straight) and did not fit together well! Overall the quality was less than Wal Mart furniture... at a higher cost! The final product: My desk draws rub against the frame and the hinges are weak and bending. Home Decorators = Poor quality matched with poor customer service and horrendous delivery policies. |

One of the reasons I decided to purchase an area rug from HDC was because their website indicated the the area rug I was interested in was "Available" and in stock. With my husband's birthday within the next couple of weeks; this was important to me. However, when I contacted HD to see if my order had shipped on the date indicated, I was provided a new ship date of one week later. When I asked why the ship date of my order had changed, the associate could not help me (and I spoke to several); she said she would have to email the vendor responsible for shipping the rug to obtain this basic information, and that it would take 3 business days to receive response. In this age of "real-time" information, I thought she was kidding, but she was not. In total frustration after speaking with several associates trying to obtain very basic information on my order and being told they could not help me, I decided to cancel my order. I will never do business with HD again |

Good price, could get here sooner, but ship date is middle of next month! Kind of hard to find or figure out what you are getting. (ex. colors, oil rubbed yet photo shows a swatch with a color I like but it is what I ordered) |

I plan to purchase an entire set of furniture from HD, but piece by piece, when I can afford it. So far, I have purchased 2 nightstands, a TV stand and a king-sized bed. The nightstands are lovely - really pleased with the quality. The tv stand would have exceeded my expectations, if the hinges to the doors worked. The doors weren't mitered, so we did it ourselves and purchased new hinges for the doors. The bed was supposed to be shipped the same time as the rest of the furniture, as the website said it was available. I received an email that stated the bed was returned, so I called customer service and was told that the bed was damaged enroute and was returned by the shipper. Now it won't be shipped until a month after I ordered it. I was displeased to see the price of the collection of furniture that I am purchasing increase for certain pieces by as much as $100.00. I think that the freight surcharge is too high for some pieces. |

I purchased two bookcases in Oct 2007. The 3-tiered arrived in fine shape, the 6-tiered was broken. I sent it back. They then mistakenly sent a 3-tiered as a replacement. I sent that back. They promised to send a new 6-tiered one, but I asked them to delay a few days until I returned from a trip. They claimed they could not, so they credited my account for a 3-tiered bookcase. This process has taken over 7 weeks: I still have no bookcase and, so far, have been cheated out of $70, as well as the supplemental shipping fee for 6-tiered bookcases. The 6-tiered Mission bookcase, btw, ships in a single box, about 7 feet long, weighing 106 lbs. Fed Ex left it lying on my sidewalk; the break in the support looked fresh. Home Decorators has been simply awful in dealing with these problems. The responses from their personnel are so inappropriate, one wonders if they have read the e-mails. NEVER, ever order anything from these people. Too bad, because the bookcase is lovely. |
