Not only was the customer service lady very nice and polite, but my LG washer was delivered a day earlier than expected. I have, for the most part, had good experiences with the physical store and was glad to find that the homedepot.com was easy to do business with and I would highly recommend both. |

I've made 4 purchases from HomeDepot.com and some have gone well and some have not. I believe the company is going through growing pains and will eventually work out the bugs. The purchases that went well: Everything was delivered accurately and quickly. The company that delivers purchases from Home Depot is the same company that delivers for HomeDepot.com. The purchases that didn't go well: I placed an order that was not shipped after 30 days. I called to cancel it and was told it was cancelled. A week later, everything showed up at my door. I called to have them picked up to be returned. It was six months and many phone calls later when they came. The call center people are very helpful, but the HomeDepot.com rules are odd. I wished I could have just returned the merchandise to the store, which is what you can do with most large retailers. I will buy from HomeDepot.com, but only for something I'm 100% sure is going to be right the first time. |

(Edited October 08th by Concerned Customer) I went to THD to get a fridge.I believe buying my car was easier.THD didn't have it in stock nor do they ever stock any fridge's.I called 4 local Home Depots and no one had it.I wanted to go in get it and come home with it.I waited 1 hour for the associate to order it.I had it shipped to the store so we could save 50.00 on shipping rate which took another 45 minutes to find someone who knew how to get rid of the freight charge. The help was friendly but took too long.I'll keep THD for hardware. |

I ordered from homedepot.com. Week later, I called. The CSR said it would arrive in 5-7 days. I waited another week, called again, and CSR said manufacturer had cancelled the order, but they were going to re-enter the order. The first CSR did not tell me the manufaturer had cancelled the order, and made it seem like it was backordered. Another week, no delivery. CSR said order cancelled again and recommended order product from somewhere else. They never emailed that orders were cancelled. |

RUN AWAY! As fast as you can! Don't get fooled by the big name behind HomeDepot.com. The .com division is one of the most horribly run businesses I have ever dealt with. They shipped me a previously opened and damaged product (tool cart), appalling ethics right there. And it took a month for them to (finally) get the item picked up and issue me a refund. I can count eleven times that they lied to me on the phone. RUN AWAY! |

Wish there was a rating with no stars at all... Should've read the reviews before ordering. placed an order for the item on 12/11, was promised to have it in 5-7 business days. 10 days later, called CS, they hunged up on me few times before i was able to speak to someone. When asked about the order, been told that it's out-of stock, but will be shipped sometime "after christmas". When asked why i wasn't notified about the delay, was told, and i quote, "i have no idea". Charge was already posted |

RUN AWAY, run away NOW! This site is horrible. I have had nothing but headaches from HomeDepot.com. I placed an order on 12/19 for a Christmas gift. I received the standard Order Confirmation and Shipping Confirmation emails without any issues. But on 12/22 my credit card was creditted back for the item. When I called their customer service (if you want to call it that) they had no idea what they were doing. TAKE MY ADVICE...DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE!!!! |

My order for shades was placed and I received them and only one fit the other 3 were ordered incorrectly. There was no customer service everyone avoided me, I went up to Home Depot in Seguin, Texas numerous times, no one could help me, no one called me especially management. Finally I was told they would send them back and pay the expenses and get the shades the correct size. I went today, took my shades and was told the manager changed his mind about the shipping costs. This place sucks..... |

Homedepot.com is totally messed up. More than 2 weaks after my order was accepted and confirmed, it hasn't arrived yet, no shipping info has been emailed to me. A call to their CSR proved to be useless: they know nothing. Waiting time when you call their CSR dept. is somwhere between 90 and 200 minutes now. What a mess! |

Homedepot.com is going through a lot of growing pains. Wait about a year before trying. A 45min wait on the phone to talk to someone. Next time was a 2hr 45min wait. Third time was only 5 minutes, but took 45 minutes to be transferred to the 5th person who finally was able to help (I hope; I still don't have the order after a month). Their website order tracking was updated, but still does not give status of your order. It just says being processed. I was told it was on back order. Now I got a note from Home Depot to evaluate the product. I haven't even received it. I had sent an e-mail asking for status and no response. Home Depot does not know how to run an internet mailorder service yet. |

I placed an order in April, 2006 and received defective merchandise. I tried repeatedly to call the 800 number but could not get through to a human after 8 attempts waiting over 2 hours each time. I called the customer complaint line at 800-553-3199. I talked to several humans there but they cannot access customer order information - they can just take the complaint. I talked to several store managers who have told me that this is a common complaint (trying to get through to a human at the 800 number) and most of them encouraged me to file a complaint. All I want is my merchandise - 8 weeks later and still trying. AVOID! |

I agree with all of the other negative postings. If HD doesn't want to do business on line they ought to get off line. I ordered two skylights on June 7. These were supposed to ship within 7 business days. By August 1 I had sent 4 emails and made 6 phone calls. Three of the calls entailed 30-40 minute holds. When I told them to cancel the order they said they couldn't. Of course, they couldn't ship the order either. I got the product elsewhere and now await further idiocy from HD as they try to cancel my unshippable order. I expect them to finally ship it and stick me with trying to remove the charge from my card. |

This was the MOST UNPLEASANT experience of online shopping that I have ever had. The customer service people were rude and deceptive and told me various accounts of the status of my order that were not true. There is no way that I could check on the "actual" status of my order and the people at homedepot.com did not offer any help. In fact they frustrated my attempts to get any information. The website from which I ordered this patio table and chairs stated that I would receive it within 5 yo 7 business days. The order was listed as open and not charged to my credit card for over 3 weeks. No one could answer why. They agreed that the information was false on the website but could not offer any way of getting it corrected for the next unsuspecting customer. When the set arrived,it contained one chair that was bent. When we asked to get a replacement we were told to box up the entire set and send it back if we wanted to replace the one chair. We will fix it ourselves. |

Worst experiences ever. I ordered two end tables and the 2nd one arrived without any screws or bolts to put it together. They refused to send the missing pieces, informing me that it is their policy that the entire piece of furniture has to be returned, instead. How efficient! I then stupidly ordered a patio set from them because the local store had zilch for selection. 8 days later, tried logging into homedepot.com to track my package and it rejected my order number. I called and they have no idea where my shipment is. Tracking info reveals nothing. Rep called me "Richard" for some reason and pronounced "Chula Vista" as "Charalle Vista". Brilliant. Cust Svc managers had no info. Family coming into town tomorrow and nobody knows where my shipment is. Family visit ruined. $1600 wasted. Thanks home depot. |

DO NOT BUY FROM HOMEDEPOT.COM or DO NOT BUY A GE APPLIANCE FROM THEM I received a defective brand new GE Frost-free Freezer from HomeDepot.com. Everytime I called I always received the same info -- "DON'T CALL US -- CALL GE". I knew after 2 hrs the unit was defective...but GE made me wait 48 hrs. then call back. Called back, and set up a service repair date to confirm it was defective -- another week wasted with no working freezer. Serviceman confirmed it was a defective compressor and drier -- GE refused to send me a NON defective unit -- they will only repair the defective unit. Now I have to wait another 11 days for a service call. Who knows how many more things will be wrong after the compressor is fixed. I will never trust this unit to keep food frozen. Don't waste your time or money on Homedepot.com or GE!!!!! You WILL REGRET IT -- IT IS MONEY FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET. $827 FLUSHED!!! AND THE UNIT IS MADE SO INFERIOR AND SHODDY COMPARED TO 10 YR OLD UNITS. |

I purchased a grill for just over $1000. They gave me a delivery date two weeks out. They later emailed me to say it was backordered. When I called they told me it wasn't backordered and they unblocked it. They gave me the wrong shipper ID information. The shipper informed me homedepot.com had not released the item to them. The shipper finally convinced homedepot.com to release the item. Upon arrival, the grill was visibly damaged (hood dented). I called customer service immediately. They said no problem, they would send me return instructions in the mail. 10 days later, no instructions. I call back, they informed me that because the item was deemed hazardous material, they could not ship it. I would need to return it to the store. (This contradicts the website policy information.) Now they have my $1000 and I have a 250lb busted grill in my garage that I am expected to move. I put the credit card charges in dispute and am awaiting the next round. |

I am so upset with Home Depot on how they handled my order. The bed that I ordered for my son came in a box that looked like it was crushed under a truck. It had big holes and tears in the box. You could see big scratches on the bed through these holes. The tape on the box was coming off like it had been repackaged. Once I opened the box the contents inside was a complete mess. The parts were not wrapped or secured. There was dust everywhere and I found more scratches and dents on the bed. I called to return the bed and they told me I had to order and pay for another one then return the damaged bed. This was after being on hold for 30 minutes. Talked to customer service supervisor and was no help. Just told me that was their policy. It's going to take months to return the bed and get a refund. I will not be reordering from Home Depot. I can't believe they would try to resell something that has been damaged. My son loves cars and he is absolutely crushed he doesn't have his car bed. |

Wish I had read these reviews before I placed the order. Placed an order for an air filter. Tracking the status of my order on their website was useless as the feature never worked. When I finally received my order over a week later it was damaged. Couldn't return it to a local Home Depot; instead they insisted UPS had to pick it up from me, but it would take a week for that to happen. Then more waiting for the damaged item to actually make it back across country (another week). Item is currently in transit back to them; who knows how long before they actually credit my card back. I'll be sending my credit card company after them for a charge-back if the refund isn't prompt. This company moves at a snail's pace and is incompetent at best - stay away! |

Doing a simple return has been a total nightmare. I returned the merchandise a good six weeks ago and have yet to receive my refund credit. Apparently, the return instructions that came in my box were inaccurate. Customer Service is now telling me that I was supposed to call before sending back the merchandise to get a return number (which is certainly not a customary process for catalog/internet returns). I am a technical writer and write instructions for a living; I guarantee I followed the instructions in my box and they didn’t say anything about calling before sending back merchandise. Because I did not call first, my returned merchandise is lost in their warehouse. Customer Service is very unhelpful and blames me for not calling first. I have been blatantly lied to a few times. A finally spoke to a manager once and he was very ignorant and unhelpful. As noted by others, you can not return merchandise ordered online to a store, which is also a backwards business practice. |

I ordered some air filters and they never arrived. UPS said they got the billing info but never received them. HomeDepot.com supervisor admitted the error on their part and offered to issue an RMA # to "return" the item (which is ridiculous b/c I never even got it). Worst part...it would take 4 weeks to issue the refund!!! Any other company would offer to cancel the order and issue a refund immediately. I will NEVER do business with them again. |

Buyer Beware!!! Home Depot sent my order not once but TWICE. They also charged my card twice. I tried to call their customer service but got no help, only promises they would send a return kit. Of course the store cannot or will not help you with on line orders. I escalated to managers who told me they were sending return kits and would follow up with me only they never called back and they could never provide me with a number to call them directly. I finally had to file a BBB complaint (they are a member of the BBB). They told the BBB they had fixed the problem, though they never did. It took me filing an additional BBB complaint and filing a complaint with my credit card company to get the matter resolved. In all, MONTHS worth of run arounds for a simple item. Not worth it, go elsewhere!!!! |
