epgmac - (September 26, 2004) Works exactly as advertised. I really like the compact size (I keep it with my PowerBook so I can use it in locations where there's no wireless access and existing ethernet ports are all filled). On the other hand, I also gotta lug the somewhat weighty AC brick (suppose there's no way around that) so the total package one has to carry isn't so lightweight. But it's still the best small-case 10BT hub out there I could find.

combo42 - (December 23, 2004) Good name brand. You can't go wrong with NetGear. As a hub, you can't really go wrong with this brand. The unit itself is a tad big, but that doesn't really matter. All in all, I've been very satisfied with this hub.

chihmingchang - (September 14, 2004) I'm not a technical guy but I can still install this hub without any difficulty. It's is really stable when several computers are on-line at the same time. I would recommand it if you need a hub for home use or small business.

Using it for almost a year, works for me
linlu00 - (12/11/2008) I have been able to use this successfully with notebooks that have Trend Micro firewalls installed. You need to read the technote to open the ports (19540 iirc) for this device in your profile. Belkin does have a good technote about how to get this device to work with various personal firewalls (Norton, Trend Micro, Zone Alarm, Microsoft and one other). I have a used a Western Digital USB drive attached to this due to lack of USB ports on a notebook, and although slow the performance didn't seem to be too much slower than if the drive was directly attached. I have also used this quite successfully with a Microsoft wireless mouse (due to lack of USB ports). I did not disable the track pad in the BIOS since I need to be able to reconnect devices after resuming from sleep or standby mode. I could probably do that with the keyboard, but I haven't tried. I also use this to scan across the network on an Epson 9400CX Multifunction that is only designed for local USB usage. It works great for that. The only glitch with this happened when I upgraded from Trend Internet Security Pro 2008 to 2009 a few days ago - it sometimes drops the connection to the Epson when scanning. Which points to the fault being with TIS Pro 2009. To fix the drop, I disconnect the Epson via the Belkin control console. Sometimes I also power down the Epson, power it back up. Then I reconnect to the Epson via the Belkin control console. I am buying one of these for work now since I have not been happy with our HP multifunction scanner. I am replacing HP with a simple Epson scanner that will be on the network despite being a local only product.

Sturdy, High Quality, Reliable Hub that allows for easy troubleshooting of network issues.
witschey - (08/02/2008) I bought this Netgear Hub in order to be able to troubleshoot network problems. Troubleshooting network problems through packet capture appplications like WireShark requires a true hub that will not alter packages. This Netgear Hub is one of the few products out there that is a true HUB. Other products in the market alter packages and are therefore useless for this purpose. I used this product while troubleshooting a VPN router from Liksys that wasn't working, but which they insisted was working perfectly OK. Only after working side by side with a Cisco technical support specialist and doing package capture with Wireshark and THIS Netgear Hub were we able to confirm that their VPN router was defective.
