3 Star Review Logitech MX3000

Strengths:

Great ergonomics, excellent one touch media & function keys

Weaknesses:

F-keys are a liitle on the small side

Posted Oct 6, 2006 - This product is well worth the money. There is very little to be disappointed with. The mouse is extremely comfortable to use and the software included makes it a snap to program all of the function keys. The keyboard offers a superb vertical & horizontal scroll function as well as, one touch zoom +/- function keys on both the mouse and keyboard. Also has a very convenient one touch system sleep button on keyboard. The only one thing I don't like is that the characters on the keys are little stickers which tend to fade off with extended use and the F-keys are a little on the small side. ******UPDATE - 10/06/06****** After using this product for 9 months, just as I predicted in my original review above, the keyboard characters began to fade. If it weren't for this problem, logitech would have had a totally flawless product

5 Star Review Excellent Wireless keyboard/mouse combo

Strengths:

The mouse is an ergonomic masterpiece and the keyboard is great.

Weaknesses:

No weaknesses, although setup of all the buttons can be time consuming.

Posted Jan 11, 2006 - The keyboard bottons are quiet and easy to depress, no clickety clack noises when typing. This combination has everthing I could want in a keyboard and mouse and then some. Logitech makes the best input devices.

4 Star Review nice to buy

Strengths:

Very solid build, easy installation and setup

Weaknesses:

none so far

Posted Jan 6, 2006 - I bought this Cordless combo for my 32’’ LCD displayer, well, I should have bought it a little earlier because of the convenience and comforts they bring to me. What I expect most from the cordless combo is the distance and flexibility I could have between me and my fairy big screen. To my great satisfaction, both the key board and the mouse are very responsible regardless the certain distance. The mouse has very good tracking much better than my old Microsoft one which often found numb in response.

4 Star Review near perfect

Strengths:

Full-featured mouse and keyboard, great design

Weaknesses:

Slight lag on key presses. No recharging station for this mouse

Posted Jan 9, 2006 - I am loving this keyboard/mouse set. The tilt scroll wheel feature is AMAZING in my browser for switching to next/previous tab. Great design as always from Logitech. Extra buttons to scroll on left side of keyboard is convenient as well... software actually works to configure these buttons to anything you want. The only thing is I notice some lag from when a key is pressed, to when it shows up on the screen. I am moving from a Logitech MX Duo which did not exhibit this lag.

5 Star Review Love it

Strengths:

Size, integration of software, everything!

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Nov 1, 2005 - I bought this to replace a nice Microsoft setup that I got only nine months ago. I had always been a Microsoft mouse lover, but I hated the wireless Microsoft rig because the reception wasn't great even with new batteries, and the keyboard was so huge it barely could fit on my keyboard tray. The Logitech has been outstanding in the month I've been using it. I thought I like the weight of the Microsoft mouse, but the Logitech's weight is just right. It took a little bit to get used to the slightly smaller keys on the Logitech, but typing is easy and smooth. Also being the old-school tech guy that I am, I've never been into all of the extra media buttons and such. However in the case of the Logitech I find myself using the volume dial all of the time, and the music controls frequently while looking through my iTunes library. No complaints whatsoever.

4 Star Review mx 3000

Strengths:

good mouse and keyboard

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Dec 22, 2005 - I've been looking for desktop set to use with my laptop. I was thinking of an ordinary corded keyboard/mouse, RF or Bluetooth set. But with the attractive price of this MX3000 set, this is so tempting. Connection: This is not a Bluetooth so RF receiver is surely bigger than thumb-drive size, yet stylish design with 3 LEDs indicating cap lock, num lock and F-keys enhancement feature. Size of the receiver is not a big matter, you won't tend to carry laptop and keyboard around the house all the time anyway. Range?? I found that key board works best up to 4 feet before it fades at 5 feet. Mouse seems to work very well up to 8 feet before curser jumps around. But with this little laptop, 2 feet is far enough to see the screen. If you are not hooking the laptop up with on-the-wall huge plasma screen, you won't need farther range anyway. Keyboard: Nice, quiet, very solid build, plus `through holes' which implies that you could spill some coffee in and it will drain down its back. So many buttons with useful default shortcuts like zoom, scroll, side scroll, messenger, full-feature media control and many more. Don't like it? Reassign the function or disable it. Media control also works with freeware like WinAmp too. This is cool. Secured connection encrypts your data, this give you worry-free. I never have problem of echoing characters or lose control of the keys so far. Sleep mode does NOT delay the keyboard at all. Mouse: Nice MX600! It uses invisible infrared instead of red light but with the invisible intensity, you shouldn't look into its image sensor anyway. Mouse has about 20secs sleep timeout. There is less than half a second lag before it is reactivated. 60% of the time that scroll wheel can't reactivate it after a sleep. I personally thing this mouse has less accuracy than MS510 as I also own it too. But I'm not into a game business so this is still in a high satisfaction level. Other things: Very easy installation and device setup, very nice user interface. I found some bugs though... Many times I use zoom feature on the keyboard with MS Excel, it gets the runtime error when I close Excel program. It doesn't show up during the use and it doesn't give you a hard time losing your unsaved data anyway (already updated to the latest software). This is why I give only 4 stars although I love it pretty much. Overall: I would give 5 stars to the keyboard, 4 stars to the mouse due to some lag and its accuracy. But I would rate the whole set at 4 stars because of the runtime error in Excel which shouldn't happen at all.

4 Star Review Nice mouse and convienient keyboard

Strengths:

Easy installment and lighter mouse.

Weaknesses:

The mouse is not MX610, regret not read the spec. in details.

Posted Nov 23, 2005 - I bought this combo for the my laptop. Installment is easy and quick. The keyboard was comfortable for your both hands. You can add the keyboard pad on the keyboard, which included in the package. Regretfully, I found the mouse included in this package was MX600, not MX610 as I expected, though the shape is almost the same. Of course, the MX600 had most functions the MX610 can provide. The position was quicker and easier than my previous logitech mouse did due to its laser feature. And this mouse use battery so it was lighter than my MX1000 mouse. Given the lowest price, less than $50 after rebate, and good feature. It is still a nice choice.

Outstanding looking product, mouse and keyboard are extremely responsive and the keyboard tools are great. Very nice upgrade from my older model Logitech.

The software makes it easy to access your music, photos and videos. The mouse has many outstanding features making this product the best I have used todate.

5 Star Review More Bang For The Buck!

Strengths:

Lots of function keys that makes every movement so much faster and easier! The keyboard is very quiet and smooth.

Weaknesses:

NO designated internet shortcut key. I was amazed by this, and thought perhaps it was a mistake. Of course, you can assign a key for the internet - which I did so it's not that big a deal.

Posted Sep 6, 2006 - Overall, this keyboard/mouse combo is a great deal. Lots of features for a great price and the keyboard is a dream to type on. Unlike other reviewers, I don't find the keyboard keys are small at all. Very quiet and everything you need just a button away! Function keys like the zoom key (on both the keyboard and the mouse), shutdown key, calculator key, messenger key (you can assign the button for IM you use), and the digital media library keys are among my favorites! Connection was a breeze; no problem whatsoever! The mouse is fairly light and comfortable. It tracks and responses very well.

Thank you for the valuable feedback!
