4 Star Review Economical Combo + Good Performance

Posted May 17, 2006 - This is a great wireless keyboard and mouse combo, at a great price. I've used it in the past and just purchased a set for home. It's standard RF, so you can use it anywhere; you don't need Bluetooth, you don't have to install custom drivers, etc. There are only a couple of down sides: The keyboard is not as ergonomic as some pricier models, and both the keyboard and mouse use AA battries; it would have been nice if they had built-in rechargeable batteries, but you can presumably use your own AA rechargables.

Posted Dec 22, 2007 - Having a mouse not hooked up to a wire is very nice. Good soild construction, and lots of shortcuts on the keyboard. Now if I could only remember to use them.

4 Star Review A good product at a reasonable price

Strengths:

Good keyboard feel. Love the flexibility of user-designed buttons. The keyboard is so light that moving it out of the way is easy.

Weaknesses:

Mouse took some getting used to and is more sensitive to the location of the receiver than I would prefer. There are no directions to speak of for actually using it.

4 Star Review Microsoft Std Wireless Optical Mouse and Keyboard

Strengths:

Good ergonomic design, looks good, great battery life and has handy desktop applets for both the keyboard and the mouse to customize features and view signal quality and battery level.

Weaknesses:

Poor manual, only a 6 foot range and sharp edges on keyboard legs that can scratch the tabletop.

Posted Dec 1, 2005 - I was concerned about battery life (2 AA alkaline cells in the keyboard and 2 in the mouse), but the mouse and keyboard have been running under normal use for 7 weeks now with no problems and the battery indicators in the desktop applets still show nearly full battery capacity. My units seem to be very "line of sight". I can get slightly more than the 6 foot range specified in the manual if I keep the receiver in clear view of and slightly above the keyboard and mouse. Each device also has button on the bottom to change the "wireless connection channel" to help improve functionality, although the manual isn't clear about exactly what the button does or how many times you can press it. Overall it is a very nice combo that I can recommend.

Strengths:

Mouse: very accurate, very comfortable when use. Keyboard: feel good when typing, lots of shortcuts,easy to use

Weaknesses:

no user manual. a little bit battery consuming

Strengths:

good keyboard pick up as far as 6 feet just for the trying b ut in general in front of my desk area i have had no problem with reception

Posted Mar 26, 2006 - easy to install, just followed the directions, comfortable to type on if your used to working with microsoft keyboards in general... like being able to lift the keyboard and move around in my office.. key strokes are quiet and easily depressed with mild resistance... the mouse is great but just need to remember when installing it and your on the floor with the tower, just remember to keep the transmitter close t o the mouse so it can pick it up.... because i kept trying to install it when the transmitter was on the floor and the mouse up on the desk top but other than that i am happy....

Posted Jun 28, 2006 - This wireless keyboard and mouse combo from Microsoft fits the bill perfectly. The setup is super easy and the feel of the keys is similar to keyboards costing much more. The mouse is responsive and appears to have good battery life. As a basic entry level wireless keyboard and mouse combination there is nothing more anyone can ask for. Highly recommended.

Strengths:

Posted Feb 20, 2006 - I like the quality and features of Logitech products. Keyboard has lots of extra features and mouse is optical and of good sturdy quality. Be careful when installing support software because sometimes it has unnecessary third party apps that install some trash on your computer

Posted Oct 24, 2005 - I've tried Logitec and I just didn't care for the feel of the mouse and how he keyboard lays flat. I've always used Microsoft wired keyboard and mouse, so had the feel I was used too but the freedom from the wire.

Strengths:

This is one awesome product and very versatile. It has all of the functions necessary at the touch of a button. It is so nice not to have wires cluttering the desktop, it is very clean now.

Weaknesses:

There is no weakness.

4 Star Review Great mouse and keyboard for the price

Strengths:

Mouse is very accurate and comfortable. Good feel to the keyboard. Just plug and play!! PRICE IS RIGHT

None that I can think of.

Posted Dec 4, 2006 - This is a very good product with great wireless connectivity. It took about two minutes to plug it and had have it up and running. Keeps your desk clean and free of wires. I have been using it for about two weeks and I enjoy the freedom of no wires. I have since purchased another keyboard / mouse combo for work. I hope that the battery life will last about 6 months, since my last wireless mouse from microsoft last about that long. You can not beat this combo for the Price.

Strengths:

Ease of use. Very easy to plug and use it. Very smooth movement of the mouse. Great one to have..

Weaknesses:

Batteries are low warning keeps coming up from the second day that I connected.

Posted Jul 27, 2006 - Its way better than the Logitech keyboard that I had used previously. This is nice keyboard to have, strongly recommend it. It worked very smoothly for my Dell E510 without any problems
