After doing extensive research on KVMs, I decided to pay a little more to get the belkin. It cost about 1.5 times the cheap competitors, but I figured I was buying quality.
I plugged in my MS Intellimouse Explorer and MS Internet Keyboard Pro and it works fine on my desktop. The image on my monitor is great and clear. The hotkeys on my keyboard dont work, but that doesnt bother me. However, what does bother me is that the keyboard does not work at all on my laptop. I tried to put the keyboard into one of the USB ports on the KVM and this made it work on the laptop, however it makes a horrible beeping sound which can be stopped by putting another USB device in there. The sound is due to nothing being in the Keyboard port. When switching between computers with the keyboard in a regular USB port, it takes forever for the keyboard to work again because it recognizes the device as just being plugged in. A real annoyance.
I am hoping that there will be some update to the KVM so that my laptop will be forced to recognize the extra keyboard attached. By the way, I am using WinXp Sp1 on both computers.

TopI have had no problems with this product. It is designed well and works well. Switching computers is easy, the device takes up little space, and cost is expected for what it is.

Belkin OmniView SOHO KVM Switch
Strengths: Very good viedo, small footprint, somewhat reasonable price ($100)
Weakness: Does not work with my wireless Logitech mouse. Loses much of the keyboard functionality of my Logitech wireless keyboard (special multimedia keys, quick-launch buttons, scroll wheel).
This unit is advertised as working with Logitech wireless products, but it really does not. Still waiting to hear back from tech support on my specific problem, but I am not holding my breath.
