kdmeyer - (January 31, 2006) I'm on my second one of these, and I really, really like it. It's thin, light, quiet and does a great job of keeping my legs cool. It seems to keep the computer cooler, too, but, honestly, preventing leg scorch was my primary goal. ;^) Caution/suggestion: I'm on my second one of these because the tiny on/off switch on the cord snagged on something (laptop case? couch? who knows...) and ripped apart. A person with do-it-yourself skills could probably have fixed the torn wires, but that person isn't me. I don't know why you'd ever want it turned off, anyway, so I've covered the switch up with electrical tape on my new one. Hopefully that will protect it. Note on size: I use it wi

dale182 - (June 12, 2005) I purchased this mainly because it was CHEAP! I bought this thing for less than $15 with shipping and tax combined. It does what it's supposed to do - protect against theft by keeping laptop in place. What's included is a padlock with keys, 6ft cable, and a pivot clamp. The pivot clamp looks like a small scissor and has small ring that you put the padlock and the cable through. The pivot clamp doesn't fit nicely into the security slot in my T42 laptop; I had to sorta jam it in and push it down to keep it in the slot. The pivot clamp also doesn't look too strong although I doubt that it can be easily broken off. Overall, it works nicely but I wish I had invested a bit more to get one of

tmp692 - (January 26, 2005) Laptops are notorious for overheating, especially the Sony Vaio, like I have. Mine had gotten so bad that it would eventually just shut down. I had considered returning it (I had gotten the extended warranty) for repair. I read about overheating problems with laptops, so I blew out the cooling ports with canned air, which helped slightly, but not enough. I then ran across some comment about a cooling pad and started looking about and came across this one. It gave me a brand new computer. Now it really does perform like the 2GZ computer that it is. The pad is thin, easily hooks up to a USB port and is similar to a docking station. The only downside, if there is one, is that it d

MainTink - (09/03/2009) I purchased this on 5-16-09. Lately when i turn my laptop on (which was purchased same date). the pad sounds like a sick two cycle engine. I have to tap it a few times to make it quiet.Iuse it on a flat surface only with the back cord cover raised. I took it back on 9-2-09, for exchange with no success. What can you do to resolve this or shall i just chuck it, and buy a different product that works right?

awolpin - (03/22/2009) I purchased this lock through Consumer Depot, who offered the product for far less than anyone else, and with free shipping to boot. Product arrived only a few days after order, via USPS, containing the cable lock in a factory-fresh plastic blister. I am pleased with the price, speed and accuracy provided by Consumer Depot and would not hesitate to purchase through them again.
