5 Star Review HP 90W Air/Auto/AC Combo Power adapter

Strengths:

Powers or Charges an HP dv9000 series Laptop using a standard 120V power outlet, the cigarette lighter socket in a car or the power socket in an airplane.

Weaknesses:

None!

Posted Jan 15, 2007 - During our recent trip across the country, my children (9 & 17) were able to watch videos and play music for hours at a time using my Laptop. This Combo Power Adapter worked flawlessly. It even comes with a zippered bag to hold the pieces when not in use.

4 Star Review Combo Adaptor

Strengths:

versatility. One solution for all scenarios.

Weaknesses:

size - too bulky

Posted Jan 30, 2008 - I got this as a second power supply for when I travel to use on the plane or cars. The size (mostly the width) is bit of issue when fitting in the bag.

4 Star Review Almost exactly what I wanted!

Strengths:

Come's with zipper pouch! Button to switch from just power to power/charge. Comes with POUCH!

Weaknesses:

Adapter plugs for different laptop models. No extra outlet.

Posted Jan 15, 2008 - I originally bought a Targus Combo adapter to take along on a trip because of its extra outlet and it's price but it didn't work out for me. It beeped like crazy and its cords were just hanging from it when travelling. It also required me to carry around the brick and cord that came with my laptop. I returned it right away after coming back from my trip. I needed a Combo adapter bad because I wanted to use my laptop as a GPS in my car and so it wouldn't run out of batteries in the plane. This was one of the best investments I have made. It replaces your original power cables so you only have to carry this set around. It even lets you turn off charging if you don't want to waste your battery, but you don't want to charge it yet until its fully out. And did I mention the POUCH??? It keeps everything so organized. Its so useful, but it's never pictured when advertised At first i thought i had the same loose plug problem as the other guy (I have a tx1000 series though) but I just had to push it in more and it fits perfect. The only thing that annoys me is the adapter plugs. I wish there were none and the plug on the brick is the one that is used. I also wish there was an extra outlet for other things. I know we can't have it all. It's a really great buy otherwise!

1 Star Review Duct Tape for HP AC Combo Adapter?

Strengths:

Great travel kit for your HP Notebook.

Weaknesses:

The AC adapter plug is loose when plugged into my HP dv9500 Notebook. It must be held (maybe duct tape...?) in place otherwise it won't connect, and therefore won't charge.

Posted Nov 13, 2007 - Neither HP nor the retailer want to take any responsibility for this product. HP claims that it is the problem of the retailer since it was not purchased directly from HP even though the AC Adapter is obviously defective either because of poor design specifications or defective manufacturing. Obviously, I haven't been using it. It's probably a great product otherwise!
