5 Star Review Outstanding memory.

Strengths:

Rock solid, runs at advertised speed and voltage

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Jun 15, 2007 - It can be difficult to find good memory these days. Some manufacturers are using a practice called 'upbinning,' where they offer memory that may run at DDR2 800, but you have to run it at 2.0v for it to do so. The problem is that if you have a motherboard with the Intel 965 northbridge, it can't run memory over 1.8v, so you've suddenly made your system unstable. This memory is great, runs at 4-4-4 timings, and will run DDR2 800 at 1.8v, meaning that it has lots of potential for overclocking. You can find other sticks for cheaper, but you'll have a hard time finding sticks that are more dependable or that have more overclocking potential.

5 Star Review Great Memory

Strengths:

great performance for the price

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Jan 25, 2008 - Great and i emphasize "great" product. I hooked this up with a Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 motherboard, 5000+ black edition cpu, Antec 900 case and a Zalman 9500 heatsink cooler. Couldnt be more happy with the quality since its so hard to find good memory for a low price these days. Would highly recommend for those looking for a bargain.

4 Star Review Patriot PDC22G6400LLK

Strengths:

Micron D9 on most chips, 4-4-4-12 at 800, 5-5-5-15 at 925

Weaknesses:

May get Ephida chips, heatspreaders loose

Posted Dec 23, 2007 - Voltage should be set a 2.2v in bios. Bios will probably default to 1.8v and 5-5-5-15. Heatspreaders are loose and need to be pressed onto chips for better contact. If you get a good set of D9's this memory is a good value. The D9's are not guaranteed.

5 Star Review Patriot 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 Kit

Strengths:

Fast, heat-sink, backward compatible

Weaknesses:

Not that I know of

Posted Nov 20, 2007 - I have an ECS motherboard (DDR333) armed with 1GB of RAM before this purchase. I had purchased a 2GB memory kit in past but despite the backward compatibility claims my system was not stable with it; I don't overclock or anything. But the Patriot memory kit proved to be really backward compatible; I have a stable system and I didn't have to configure anything at all. Moreover I can now upgrade my motherboard to make full potential of the Patriot kit.

5 Star Review Good Value

Strengths:

Fast for overclocking, compatible

Weaknesses:

"Haven't been found"

Posted Nov 18, 2007 - It runs great on several motherboards, and the low latency makes it very fast for overclocking. It is running at 2.2 volts normally, but can stand even a little higher.

4 Star Review Good Memory

Strengths:

Lifetime warranty, decent stock 4-4-4-12 specs.

Weaknesses:

I've seen the price drop even more since I've bought mine:(

Posted Nov 11, 2007 - Good Patriot memory that runs at 4-4-4-12 timings. I'm able to run at less than the stock 2.2v. The lifetime warranty gives me peace of mind. No problem getting system to boot at default volts. Make sure you can adjust your memory timings/voltage for best results. When is DDR2 memory going to bottom out in price?!?

5 Star Review Patriot PDC22G6400LLK

Strengths:

price, low latency

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Nov 7, 2007 - Bought it around ~$50. This is lowest price I can find for a DDR2-800 @ timing 4-4-4-12. Popped in my abit ip35 and works stably at its factory setting, even at 2.1v. Remember to change timing and voltage settings in your ip35 bios, otherwise it will run at its default value 5-5-5-16 @ 1.8v, which is also stable though. Just bought another pair to get 4g.

3 Star Review Undecided on This One!

Strengths:

A real bargain!

Weaknesses:

At least one memory module caused repeated system crashes

Posted Oct 25, 2007 - I want to be fair in this review and will therefore simply say that of the 2 sets of Patriot 2GB RAM I bought from 2 different vendors, the first caused system failures from the very beginning, during Windows installation. It was only after I isolated the problem to a specific memory module that I was able to complete Windows installation and obtain stable system performance. I have returned that set for an exchange, and the remaining 2GB set is working fine. The vendor who sold me the presumed defective set suggested that I might set the RAM voltage in my system a bit higher, before returning the memory, but I was disinclined to risk another crash of a now stable system. I may update this review once I receive the replacement RAM.

5 Star Review Patriot 2gb PC2-6400

Strengths:

Very fast. I upgraded from 1GB of DDR400 and there is a HUGE improvement. I also bought this for $xx after rebate and its one of the best out there. 4-4-4-12 timings, 2GB, and cheap.

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Sep 13, 2007 - Works great, popped them right in and system worked fine. Ram stays under 40% with tons of stuff running, including a game! Make sure the sticks are running at 2.2 volts - I had to go into the bios to change the voltage.

5 Star Review 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 DIMM Memory

Strengths:

Good ram for overclocking, low cas latency, relatively high voltage for RAM

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Sep 8, 2007 - Those who are new to overclocking and want to take advantage of the SLI/EPP auto overclock need to make sure that their motherboards support it and that it's enabled in the BIOS. Very good speeds and timings. Handles anything I throw at it without any signs of stress in conjunction with my X2 5600+ Windsor. Good price. Heat spreader looks cool but not overly flashy. Runs a little hot when you have all 4 memory banks of your mobo populated. I'm guessing this is because the heat spreaders end up too close together. Spend an extra $20 and buy a RAM cooler if you're planning on going with 4 x 1GB.

5 Star Review Excellent memory

Strengths:

Stable, fast, good price, low latency.

Weaknesses:

none

Posted Aug 27, 2007 - I've had it over clocked a bit, with no issues. Works great at 4-4-4-12 @ 2.2v 900mhz on my Gigabyte Motherboard. Low latency shows a definite improvement in the gaming performance on my PC Great memory at great price, I would buy another one, highly recommended!

5 Star Review patriot extreme performance ddr2-800 2gb kit

Strengths:

extremely fast. bought 4 sticks, all worked right out of the box with no problems whatsoever. all survived 8+ hours in memtest. fast 4-4-4-12 timings. cheap.

Weaknesses:

none so far. this ram has worked perfectly for me.

Posted Aug 16, 2007 - at first i ran 2gb of patriot extreme performance. i was so happy with it that i bought another 2gb when it was on sale. 4gb is a little overkill but this ram is great... and i'm sure microsoft will eventually figure out some way to eat up all 4gb with its memory hogging applications. i'm not sure if it was my motherboard or the ram... but at first it defaulted to 5-5-5 timings. i had to change it manually to 4-4-4-12 in bios. not a big deal. survived memtest for 8+ hours at 4-4-4. great value.

4 Star Review 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 DIMM Memory Kit - lightning fast.

Strengths:

In a word...Fast

Weaknesses:

Ease of setup

Posted Aug 16, 2007 - I just bought this RAM for my computer to replace old 533Mhz RAM that I had. To my dismay, upon installing it, it showed up as 533Mhz RAM at 5-5-5-12 latency. But I just had to tweak my motherboard BIOS settings to get it to run at the stated 800Mhz 4-4-4-12 latency settings. Once that was done, the RAM is running perfectly, and it is FAST FAST FAST!!

5 Star Review 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 DIMM Memory Kit (1GBx2)

Strengths:

looks good

Weaknesses:

heavy

Posted Aug 13, 2007 - The rated voltage of 2.2 might be a little high for some motherboards, however, so ensure that yours is capable of raising vDIMM to that level. You may not get tight timings or great speed without 2.2 volts. I listed price as a weakness because in general these sticks are more expensive that OCZ or Corsair equivalents despite similar performance. When RAM prices fall, as they were when I bought these, those price differences shrink, presenting an opportunity to buy. Glad to see memory prices get back to reality. Good Micron D9 memory on these sticks. Pretty tight 4-4-4-12 timings at rated speed. I've read reviews where they reached around 900MHz at these timings. Loosen them up and you're good for 1000MHz+ easy. Might very well overclock as well as the faster rated Crucial Ballistix memory. Make sure you have a motherboard that can provide enough voltage.

5 Star Review Very happy with memory

Strengths:

Very stable, cheap with rebate. Overclockable

Weaknesses:

None.

Posted Aug 17, 2007 - I bought this memory for $105 with a $45 rebate so I consider this memory a steal for this price. I built a new computer using this memory and a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R motherboard. The memory is rock solid at its base settings. I plan on overlocking the memory once I figure out how its done. There is a lot to understand with all of the specs for computer memory and I am still confused about how to make the best use of it. The memory has EPP profiles that makes it easier to select different settings. Overall I highly recommend it.
