The Twin2X2048-6400C4 is a 2048 MByte matched pair of DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs. This part delivers outstanding performance in the latest generation of dual-channel DDR2-based motherboards. This memory has been verified to operate at 800MHz at the low latencies of 4-4-4-12. 5 Star Review Good memory

Strengths:

Posted Jul 4, 2006 - I've recently moved to new AMD platform, with Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard. Originally I had 2GB of Kinston 800 DDR2, which had worked very well with P4 motherboard, but wouldn't even boot in new configuration. After some research I purchased this Corsair memory, which worked right away, and is very stable so far. You can use BIOS configurations to overclock it, but I am not sure if heatspreader is good enough for this. I looks like it is a plastic, not an aluminum as on Kingston. Anyway, very good memory

Strengths:

Excellent CAS timings, Quality manufacturer, runs fast, rebate also helps

Weaknesses:

Expensive and heat spreaders seem a little flimsy/thin

Posted Feb 8, 2007 - Works great with my ASUS P5B Deluxe without any problems. I haven't overclocked it yet and may not need to since it is already very fast. I am upgrading from a P4 with DDR memory and this memory with a Core 2 Duo are very fast!

Posted Jul 2, 2007 - I was upgrading from 2GB dual-channl PC2-5300 RAM, as I wanted the performance boost, and to not maintain upwards compatibility. I plopped 'em in and my ASUS P5WDH recognized them as PC2-6400 RAM, so at least the SPD rom is programmed properly (some are programmed to be overly conservative). I tweaked the timing, bumped the voltage to 2.1V, and all is good! Corsair has a great reputation in the memory business, with a lifetime warranty. I just hope my first purchase of their product proves to be a good one! :-) Updated 7/2/07: Don't trust Corsair rebates, which is handled by the status-now dot com site! I submitted my rebate in Feb, they never got it. I resubmitted via FAX several times, made numerous phone calls, and it finally got logged. Status updated in early May indicating that check was processed, and the expect it in six weeks! After this time, and no check, they will re-issue. It's been two weeks, and they still have not mailed the check! I will never buy another corsair product because of this. It's a shame that Corsair hires this rebate house, because other than that, the product is top-notch!

Strengths:

Very stable, highly overclockable

Weaknesses:

heatspreader is cheap quality

Posted Dec 14, 2006 - These are great memories. Perfectly compatible with my ASUS P5B Deluxe for 800Mhz. Minimum overclockable to 1066 with slightly increased voltage. The heatspreader isn't so good and you will feel it's hot when touching it.

Posted Jan 18, 2007 - My EVGA 680i motherboard picked up this memory and set all the timings automatically. I run it unlinked from the FSB at 800mhz, and CAS=4 with no problems at all. Great memory. I am planning to add another pair to bring me up to 4GB

4 Star Review Great Ram from Corsair

Strengths:

Very fast ram! Worth every penny! This ram has ready to use profiles, you have to active at it in your bios.

Weaknesses:

The ram initially ran at 5-5-5-15 on my GA-965P-DQ6. I had to go into the bios to change it to its rated timings of 4-4-4-12.

Posted Dec 12, 2006 - Overclocked mine to 850 MHz DDR @ 4-4-4-12 timings. This ram isn't cheap at $280 for 2 matched pairs of 1 GB but this is quality ram that you know is fast. Got it from Newegg.

Posted Mar 7, 2007 - I purchased this for a particular motherboard that was known to be touchy about memory. However, I have had absolutely no problems with the memory. I haven't had a chance to overclock it yet but I expect no problems from what I've seen so far. It doesn't have the fancy lights that the more expensive Corsair memory has, but I can live without those for the price. I have used Corsair memory in the past. While I would always recommend researching the device you specifically want to use it for, I have had no problems with any of the memory I've purchased.

Posted Feb 28, 2007 - This ram works perfectly fine with my XPS 600. Surprisingly it reads at 800mhz on the dell when i checked bios and ran cpu-z. Haven't had a chance to test its overclockability though since the dell's bios is locked. otherwise, killer ram. oh yeah, it didn't seem to get very hot either.

4 Star Review Memory that works

Posted Jan 22, 2007 - I am really happy that it works well without doing much to it but when I finished building the computer, the computer did not work and just made beeping sounds. After removing 1gb the computer started up properly. I do not know what the problem but after that incident I put in both the sticks and the computer worked fine and picked up the 2gb. Other than that this is great memory.

Fast, Fast, FAST!!!!! Run at very low temperature. Attractive. Overclock with FSB 1385.64. No problem.

Weaknesses:

Expencive

Posted Dec 21, 2006 - I am running this beast at over 1385 FSB and they are steady and extremely consistent. With a Core 2 Deo E6600 it is so fast that if you blink you will never see the screen change. They are a pair of beauty to behold. Take your pick, Beauty or a Beast. Love them.

Posted Nov 27, 2006 - This ram works great with the Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition Motherboard. I got this ram and mobo not too long after the mobo came out. I read many reviews and this was the #1 recommended ram for that mobo. There were lots of people trying to save a few dollars by buying different ram and they only got themselves a headache. This ram works great and definitely has room for overclocking. Definitely recommend it.

5 Star Review Great memory, very stable.

Strengths:

Fast memory, high quality. Works in a lot of boards, especially the great, but picky, ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe (it's one of the few good sticks on the QVL list for the mobo).

Weaknesses:

Expensive for 2GB of DDR2-800 compared to other brands.

Posted Sep 17, 2006 - Dropped this in a new build with an M2N32-SLI mobo with a new X2 4200+ processor and it worked right out of the box. I installed Windows XP SP2, and then began running Prime95 stress tests and Memtest86+ and it was very stable. Haven't begun overclocking yet, but may post an update later.

had 1 stick out of last 8 pair I bought go bad

Posted 1 year ago - I've bought Corsair memory for the last 3 DDR systems I built. Never had a problem getting a rebate. Yes, they do take some time to print the check and send it back. However, I've even lost a rebate check, called them up and they send me a new one a few weeks later! That's customer service! Performance is always as stated, if not better. I overclocked these particular 800Mhz sticks to 948Mhz stable on my ASUS M2R32-MVP (AM2) at 4-4-4-12 settings. I had one DDR2 Corsair stick go bad after about a year of usage on a P4 overclocked system. Ran MEMtest to confirm it was bad, RMA'd through Corsair, and had a replacement set within a week! Again, great customer service!
