4 Star Review Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook

Strengths:

I got this with 1 GB ram,80 GB HDD. Nice clear display . Very good laptop for the price. Sleek, lightweight, stylish, thin, great performance

Weaknesses:

With the exception of the battery recall, nothing so far.

Posted Sep 22, 2006 - Overall, a well-built PC. I am quite satisfied with it thus far. I have been using this product for about 2 months and its great. I have looked at and compared HP, Toshiba, and Sony laptops and cannot get a cheaper laptop anywhere than dell. The price and quality of Dell was the deciding factor in my purchase.

Strengths:

Great laptop, easy to use and setup. System runs very fast and the screen/graphics are great!

Weaknesses:

No real weaknesses but I do prefer the 17 inch screen to the 15.

Posted Dec 13, 2006 - Overall this is a great value for the money, easy to setup and use, comes bundled with everything you need. I find the system responsive and runs fast. The graphics are very good and the DVD writer works great. I am very pleased with my choice.

4 Star Review Inspiron E1505 Notebook

Strengths:

very slim and bright. battery life is strong

Weaknesses:

kinds of heavy. considering the price, I can't find any Weaknesses.

Posted Sep 1, 2006 - One thing I really love about this particular laptop is how easy the wireless is--if you're in a new area, it's simple to search and find wireless where you can hop on. In other words, if you're still a bit flummoxed by the latest technology this is a model that delivers it all, but doesn't require a masters degree in computer science. Easy to use, fast and efficient at an affordable price, I highly recommend this laptop!

4 Star Review Dell Laptop

Strengths:

Nice look and excellent sound

Weaknesses:

Battery heats up after long use

Posted Sep 12, 2006 - Nice looking design. Excellent sound and very good screen. Quality of the DVD player is great. Key and mouse are nice to use and very soft. Processor speed is nice and quality of the picture is great. Have got good quality backpack along with this as a bonus. Would recommend to go for this those who are looking for great quality laptop with excellent price. Battery heats up after long use is one of the disadvantage. But usage of the cooler avoids this.

4 Star Review Cool 15.4' Laptop!

Strengths:

15.4' WXGA screen plus intel duo core processor. Good for DVD watching and code writing.

Weaknesses:

a little bit heavy

Posted Aug 21, 2006 - This Dell E1505 laptop has a 15.4' WXGA screen plus intel duo core processor. 1 GB memory is also a plus! 5400rpm SATA hard drive make reading and writing data fast. I like my E1505. I use it everyday after I got it from Dell. Watching DVD is also wonderful. Its wide 15.4' wide screen and 2 lansing speakers are good for DVD playing. 1gb memory and 5400rpm hard drive is good for me to running my code. And what's more, you can get this laptop at a reasonable price when Dell running its promotion. So I recommend it!

5 Star Review Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook

Strengths:

Great Laptop. Great price. Intel Core 2 Duo T5500, 1024 Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon X1300, 80 gig Hard drive, long battery life (go with the 9 cell, it's worth the extra $$) Mouse pad is great too

Weaknesses:

None that I have found so far, but....The base screen is ok but spend the extra and get the true life upgrade. Maybe a bit heavier than some but for $500 less I'll break the sweat.

Posted Jan 18, 2007 - So far the Customer service has been FANTASTIC!! I have made three phone calls and after a few voice prompts I get right to a person that speaks English well enough to live down the street. Yeah you may have to be on hold for a few minutes but I get that ordering a pizza on a Friday night. I'd rather spend 2-3 mins on hold and get help than try to fix the problem myself and be hours into something that a quick phone call could have fixed. Also their phone lines are clear with no disconects like w/ HP. I also have a HP Pavillion dv 1040US. Great little computer but the hell I go thru when I call their customer service is beyond discription. HP could learn a thing or two from Dell's reps. This is why I went with Dell and I will never go back to HP. Great product, price and Great Service.....Finally someone got it right!!

1 Star Review Inspiron E1505 Notebook

Strengths:

Great screen, battery life, multimedia features

Weaknesses:

No Type II Slot - the killer for me

Posted Sep 29, 2006 - I bought this laptop but had to return it because there was no Type II Slot. I needed to be able to use my wireless aircard from Sprint. Also, I didn't want to toss all my Type II PCMIA cards. I bought a laptop from HP which had both the Type II and new Express Slot. Summary: Great laptop but they killed it by not including a Type II slot.

4 Star Review Inspiron E1505 Notebook

Strengths:

core Duo Processor, excellent performance, good price, nice look and feel

Weaknesses:

so far none

Posted Nov 30, 2006 - After a detail search and long wait I was able to find a laptop of my choice. This laptop have all that which I was looking for - Core Duo processor, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD, DL DVD±RW and almost all ports. Above all, other factor which helped me in decision of buying it, is the price. For this configuration Dell price was lower than other brands. So I got it with in my budget. Performance wise it is excellent. Core Duo processor is a great plus, procesing speed is faster. It have very sleek design and a trendy look. Battery runs for a long time. Overall Inspiron E1505 notebook is great in every aspect of price, quality and performance. I am highly satisfied with it and recommend it to others. Its a good product offered by Dell with in reasonable price.A good buy for me.

2 Star Review Wireless Card Defective

Strengths:

Works great now that it's fixed

Weaknesses:

Dell is very difficult to work with. They will nickle and dime you to death

Posted Nov 13, 2006 - I purchased this laptop from Dell.com. It was one problem after another. I completed an on-line credit application for Dell financial services, but it apparently got lost. The order sat on hold for about a week. Trying to reach them by phone was very difficult. The automated phone system is very difficult to navigate. I finally called back and pretended I wanted to buy a system and got a real person right away. It didn't fix the problem, however, and had to call back again. The problem was finally fixed and the computer was built and shipped. When it arrived, I wasn't able to access the internet at all. I was on the phone with tech support for 6 hours and for several days trying to get it fixed. Once again, dealing with the most horrible automated phone system in the world. They wouldn't let me return it either. None of the tech people seemed to know what they were doing. I kept getting different people who kept trying the same things. Finally, they figured out that the wireless card was defective and shipped me a knew card, which I had to install myself. I had the laptop upgraded, so it cost about $1800. I was not happy that I had to open it up and install the card myself. I think they should have sent a tech out or had me take it in somewhere. So with the new wireless card, it works great. I love it now, but I will never buy from Dell again. They don't care about their customers and use underhanded business tactics to get more money out of you. Don't fall for the "no interest for 12 months" deal either, they tell you it's no payments and no interest, but they still expect you to make payments. They told me that I'm just not making payments on the interest, but you still have to make payments on the principle. DON'T BUY FROM DELL IF YOU CAN HELP IT! THEY ARE NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY!!!!

4 Star Review Nice, fun laptop

Strengths:

price, build quality, plenty of ports

Weaknesses:

windows vista (for now)

Posted Jun 1, 2007 - Good laptop for anybody. I opted for resolution on my laptop of 1680 x 1050. For me, the more the better. I like the higher resolution and you are able to get a lower one if you prefer. Random notes: I like the audio quality on a laptop of this size, i also like the USB availability and DVI port. Windows vista is not my favorite yet, but it will likely grow on me. It's a slow build to get everyone using the new version I guess. Some people I know are stubborn and stuck on windows 98 or 2000. This laptop had the option of Windows XP Media Center I believe but I figured I should get the newer version of Windows. I'm always skeptical of dell because of their lower prices but this is my second laptop with them -- so far, so good.

4 Star Review Dell 6400 laptop

Strengths:

Nice screen, media buttons located on the computer, also it has firewire and plenty of USB ports. Nice big shiny screen.

Weaknesses:

a little heavy. Other than that, no weaknesses so far

Posted Apr 5, 2007 - I'd recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a reasonably priced PC with all the gadgetry. Definitely go dual-core...with Vista, it's almost a necessity. Also I recommend at least 1G RAM. You're guarantee less hiccups with the increase in RAM. Being a music producer, it's imperative for me to not have to worry about blips and fallouts.

4 Star Review Decent performer for my needs

Strengths:

Sleek, well optioned

Weaknesses:

Battery life??

Posted Feb 25, 2007 - I've been using this laptop for a couple months now. As with all my computers, I do a wipe of my hard drive, reformat, then do a clean install of Windows and then install the Aps I need. Everything from that point on has been more than acceptable. I usually run mine with AC power connected but on the occasions where I use the battery I wish it lasted a little longer. Probably should upgrade to the 9 cell battery if you plan on using it in this manner often. Even with the screen brightness turned down to minimum I couldn't get quite 4 hours of time out of my 6 cell battery.
